Just for fun I re-edited the classic Sonseed video to sync up with the version on The Insyderz album that just came out.

Mike Nelson decided to unleash this upon the unsuspecting Facebook world today:

QuoteTake Rebecca Black's "Friday", stir in a little "Three Second Rule" and you've got "Selling is Service", featuring my new favorite character, Happy Pete.

If you watch nothing else the rest of your life, let it be this.

EDIT: And I see it was unleashed here a couple days before. Never mind. :^)

What's that?  You guys want something even worse than Selling is Service?  Here you go!:

This is one of the best short series I've ever seen. Take the time and watch it, won't you. Them feelz.

You've got to check out this beautifully badass animated cyberpunk sci-fi short film directed by comic-artist Jesús Orellana called Rosa. The short was created in a year with absolutely no budget, and it turned out to be very impressive. I wonder how long it will take before the guy gets his first movie deal. You know its going to eventually happen.

"ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind's last attempt to restore the earth's ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival."

Uh, okay, yet another post apocolyptic short film that LOOKS nices, but I have no idea what is going on or why.
And while most of the physics effects are good, breaking glass is not one of them.

In essence, don't get caught up in the details, and just enjoy the story.

Alright, so the story is: Wake up, punch punch, kick punch, slice slice, super punch, shoot shoot, run run, shoot die.  In other words, there is no story.

It's a good demo reel.  I'm sure it will get him a lot of work and will be worth all the money he spent out of pocket to get it made.  It looks quite good for being made by a small independent group.  But it doesn't tell a story, we have no idea what anyone's motivation is, and we don't care about any of the characters.  It's an action scene, and I'm sure that's all they intended it to be: an action scene to showcase their technical ability.  So in that case it seems it would be best to get caught up in the details, like how they eat and the animation of their breathing, and ignore the bigger questions of why they eat or breath or wake up and immediately start fighting.

Looks pretty good though.  However, their hand to hand combat animations were a little lacking.  When all three started punching it looked like an intense game of patty cake.  And the runny mascara on the good lady bothered me for some reason.

No one said there has to be.  ;)
