VIVA IL ESORDIO DEL DIABETE ADULTO DUCE!!!

They're remaking Maniac with...Elijah Wood? Interesting casting.

Elijah Wood is a Murderous 'Maniac' in New Teaser for the Slasher Remake
The "Lord of the Rings" star takes the lead in the revisiting of the 1980 psychothriller, which is premiering at Cannes.

QuoteElijah Wood's huge eyes and boyish face offer a certain cherubic purity to a director in search for a hopeful protagonist -- which means that, twisted and inverted, they also present a potential nightmare.

Best known for his work in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as idealistic and determined hobbit Frodo, Wood is subverting that image in Maniac, a remake of the William Lustig-directed 1980 slasher film. Wood takes on the role of Frank, originally played by Joe Spinelli.

Frank, a victim of child abuse, owns a mannequin store, and is sought out by an artist named Anna (played here by Nora Arnezeder) for help with her upcoming exhibition. Soon, scalping mannequins stirs Frank's inner demons, unleashing a scornful serial killer who wants skin, not plastic.

Frodo! NOOOO!!!!!

Wouldn't be the first time he's done crazy serial killer:

Still, I'm curious if they'll try to replicate the super-grungy, slimy, generally icky tones you got from the original movie (both in the main character and the movie as a whole).

Oh yeah. He was in Sin City. I don't remember his part. Come to think of it, I don't remember much about the plot at all.

Oh my god...you're right!  :D

I just happened to watch Hot Rod a few weeks ago. I dig that movie; makes me laugh.

"You look pretty."
"What?"
"I said you look...shitty."

Isla Fisher needs to be in more movies, or at least more movies I watch.

Hot Rod is just one of the funniest, most underrated movies ever. Any movie where Ian McShane plays the evil stepdad is alright in my book.

Sometimes I'll go on YouTube and just watch a bunch of Hot Rod clips for like an hour.

"Voltron?"
"That's me!"
"Oh. Hi, Dave. Why'd you call yourself Voltron?"
"I dunno, maybe because it's super badass."
....
"You're weird."
"Hells yeah I am."

I just can't get past what a fuckhead Andy Samberg is.

There's a lot you can't get past, isn't there?

This looks great.

Bill Murray is a Wry FDR in First 'Hyde Park on Hudson' Trailer

QuoteIf you had told people years ago that Bill Murray -- of Meatballs, Stripes, Caddy Shack and Ghostbusters fame -- would play perhaps the 20th century's most dynamic president in a non-satirical film, no one would have ever believed you.

Fast forward a quarter century and acclaimed dramatic roles in films such as The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and Lost in Translation, and say hello to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, as portrayed by Murray himself.

In the first trailer for Hyde Park on Hudson, Murray smiles, jokes and wisely winks through the high tension 1939 meeting between America's First Couple, the King and Queen of England -- and the president's cousin and maybe-mistress. Based on true events, the film features Olivia  Williams as Eleanor Roosevelt, Samuel West as King George VI, Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth and Laura Linney as Margaret Suckley, the cousin, intellectual companion and rumored mistress of the president.

The trailer hits the late 30s opulence of Roosevelt's home on the Hudson River well, as well as the social awkwardness between the royal couple and Roosevelt, who for all his family's money, fashioned himself a man of the people.

The film hits theaters on December 7.
