I Just Finished Watching...

Riding With Death.

Is it too late to (A) play that scientist character in a Chris Crocker "Leave Robert Denby Alone" parody, and (B) demand Shout Factory release a Turkey Volume Guessing Man figurine?

What an elusive idea!

And I would totally buy said figurine.

"Sam, I'm blown to several thousand bits but I've gotta finish these patent papers."

[Doctor Who?]

I am working my way through season zero and I am finally on the final Gamera movie.  Good night the dubbing is bad!  "Behave or I will take away(long pause)your(longer pause)telescope"

I have to say despite the fact that the props aren't very good and the jokes don't come as often as I would like these episodes do have certain charm,I enjoy the homemade feel of them. It's also interesting seeing the guy find their characters over the weeks.

"It's the ZZTop version of sexuality." (IIRC)
Hey, I love ZZTop, but she definitely looked like a skanky chick from one of their album covers.

Watching War of the Colossal Beast now. While watching the second host segment, Joel is wearing his "big head", which I think has appeared a time or two before.

I was just thinking that it really looked like Zim's later disguise:

and in particular his Santa disguise:

I wonder if those were intentional references to MST?

[Darth Geek]

Watching Santa Conquers the Martians. Currently trying to figure out which costume is sillier, Torg the robot, or the polar bear.

I still think one of the Martians (one of the two henchmen of Voldar) is Jamie Farr (Clinger from M.A.S.H.)

This episode also contains what I believe to be the best short in MST lore.  Mr. B Natural (eh, don't hurt me).

Finished off a horror movie marathon with "Touch of Satan". This movie is exactly why I won't let my grandma sister out of her room.

I'd have to go with the polar bear. Someone could conceivably make a robot that looked like Torg (I won't conjecture as to why on Earth they would do so), but it's well known what a polar bear looks like, and it doesn't look like a white furred Bulrathi. Plus... y'know, the whole headpiece not even being attached to the body thing...

And yes, I put way too much thought into that in the last five minutes.

Just got my Gamera box set from Amazon.  Intend to do a marathon this weekend.  Can't wait!
