Good to know, thanks. I'm not sure how easy it is to do the 99 cent-becomes-a-dollar thing with our current system but I'll talk to some people who actually wrote it and see what their thoughts are. It might be relatively easy, but it most likely isn't. For now, you might consider buying another short, or buying a certificate as others have suggested. That way you'll be good for at least a couple more purchases. I'd even be willing to refund you for an additional purchase if you just want to buy a second short.

Easy, RVR. She just asked for suggestions, not to be lambasted because of her choice.

Just posting my personal experiences, that's all. :) I need to go back to my vacation :P

if that's the kind of attitude you have while on vacation, maybe you need to take a few more of 'em. ;)

I appreciate that! I'm all up to date on everything, but the newest short, The Mysterious Message. I tried ordering that and then encountered the problem. Hmm... Mysterious message indeed. lol I was thinking of waiting until a second short is released and then do 1.98 that way, but I have no ability to wait when it comes to riffs. :)

That is pretty lame. Why is .99 the cutoff and $1.00 isn't? The penny really is the difference between fraud and real purchase with this bank?

I agree. It's an inconvenience that I can't really believe will prevent fraud.

I was able to purchase The Mysterious Message and Being a Good Sport together for $1.98, and had no problem.

I glossed over one thread where it seemed as if you have no interest in Paypal, but to clear something up... You can start up a PP account with a CC or checking account.  If you have a PP account backed up with a check card, then your bank would debit the amount of your PP purchase via the card # to your checking account, which shouldn't bring on this silly .99 denial since it is through a standard bank debit line (money already in the bank).

Thrifty

I think you can also back a PayPal account with MoneyPak cards that you would buy with cash at the WalMart or probably some other retail stores.

I do appreciate the replies, but any type of paypal isn't in the cards with me. I know many people have not had any problem with them, but I have had problems with them in the past and would rather NOT go back there. I am also not giving out my credit card number, let alone actual checking account number to anyone. I don't need identity theft on top of it. And I'd rather not try a third party card, it's just too complicated for me for a simple .99 riff.

Please accept this, and as I said earlier, I would rather not have this turn into a paypal thread, please.

I'd rather the possibility of what I mentioned earlier. Could there be a sort of "blank" item I could put in my cart that would be worth one or two cents. That way it would bring the order over the one dollar restriction. And it would help other people possibily stuck in the same situation.
