Man, why are these British editions so much less expensive than the US ones? Cheap is not usually what I think when I think of the UK.

Ha! That's what I get for typing out shit without ever looking up or proof-reading afterward.

I bought it the last time amazon did that with the intention of not opening it until I watched through it on Netflix, then reselling it if I didn't like it. Never did get around to watching it, but I did sell it for a few dollars profit, even with shipping.

Are you a Lady Gaga fan? Well, I'll spare you any snide comments and simply note that today on Amazon, her new CD "Born This Way", which is scheduled to release tomorrow is just 99 cents. That's right 14 tracks for the price of one music download. Granted, it's 14 songs by a human motorcycle. No, really,:

Still, if you're a fan, here you go.

Don't do it.  I bought it at that price awhile ago and...just don't.  There are two good movies in the set, both available elsewhere with actual cases instead of being stuck into cardboard sleeves with a giant, useless book, for under $10 each.

I count 5 very good films, with 4 decent to good films in there. But the packaging does indeed suck. Plus, since it's missing a couple of films that will likely show up in future releases, you might want to pass anyway.

Not as big of a deal as it used to be, but DeepDiscount starts their twice a year sale 25% off sale tomorrow, running through the 19th. While DD has gotten a bit pricier than it used to be in recent years, and their customer service got a little iffy for a while too, this is a good opportunity for the purchase of some things:
* Various Legend Films titles, like, say , older Rifftrax titles @ about 5.25 each.
*MST3k Sets
*Some Anime titles.

Other stuff can be found cheaply as well, you'll just need to make sure you price check. And I believe that this year's code is Summer11 for the discount.

Oh hey. This is the perfect thread for this.

If you plan on goin to see Bridesmaids, X-Men: First Class, and/or Green Lantern, you can get "free" blu-ray movies with each.

On the cover of select titles, they give you "movie cash" to go see the movies.  The cool thing is that most of the titles are $10 and will give you back about $10 in movie cash (a ticket you redeem at your local participating theater).

List of available titles:

Bridesmaids:
Baby Mama
Cinderella Man
Duplicity
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
In Bruges
Knocked Up
Role Models
The 40-Year-Old Virgin
Uncle Buck

X-Men: First Class:
All four X-Men movies (which are only $8!).  There may be some other titles too.

And Green Lantern:
Just look for ANY comic book movie.  Batman (first four), Superman, etc.

The crazy thing for me is that I don't even own a blu-ray player... but, hey, free blu-rays.  I'm not gonna turn that down.  Esp when blu-ray players will prob be about the price of dvd players by the end of the year.  Movies I got were "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", the first "X-Men" movie, and "Watchmen":  all movies I had planned on getting eventually anyway.  Total sweetness!

Oh!  And this might be a Best Buy exclusive. I'm not sure.

Stan, actually the X-Men blus are $7.99 and the movie cash is worth up to $12. It's a fairly good deal.

Right! Forgot to mention that. They're actually paying people to see it!  Haha.  Just got back from the midnight showing. I saw the stack of printed out coupons which was cool cuz all I had to do was hand it over.  Transaction done.  End of line.

Good movie too (tho my heart belongs to the first two).
