They haven't all been released already?
Nope, unless it happened really recently. I'm waiting for 4 to come out in hopes there's a combo deal.

Nope, I heard the hold up was because of the Macarena parody. Some kind of rights issue that Warner has to deal with.

If you haven't bought any seasons of the show yet, this is coming out January 4th.

The bad news: the price is $99** and no announcement (so far) of the fifth season selling separately.  Even for those who waited....when you can currently get the first four seasons for under $50 total....this price is a real slap in the face.  The extras look cool of course but this takes "double dipping" too far.

(** This might be suggested retail.  Google Shopping shows that DVD Empire and CD Universe list it for the mid $70's...Barnes & Noble for $85.  But Amazon, Target and Walmart are all sticking with $99)

Wonder how long those of us who have been buying them all along will now have to wait to complete our set?

Yeah, HIT Entertainment tried to pull this trick with the Fraggle Rock series. They released the first three seasons, then they said they were going to release the fourth along with a complete series box set. At some point or another, somebody there decided to delay the release of the final season on it's own and only offer the complete series set. Then it turned out that even though the packaging on it looked really nice, it wasn't designed very well and it ended up damaging the discs during shipping. Needless to say, a lot of people weren't pleased with them. The following year they made a deal with Lionsgate, FINALLY released the fourth season on it's own (although it was in a different type of packaging than the previous seasons) and re-released the complete series set in a style of packaging that didn't suck. They even released the animated series.

I held off on the whole mess until the fourth season got released on it's own. I'm not sure what I'll do about Bullwinkle. I have the first three seasons, but not the fourth. I may hold off on the purchase unless I find a good deal on it.

I'm in the same situation...

The real hell of it isn't if they'll release season five separately...it's WHEN.  Cuz I still remember when Get Smart first came out as a complete series set for (I think) close to $200 and they made it sound like it was take it or leave it.  Now you can get two seasons packaged together at Target for a little under $20.

Just hate it if the wait for the fifth season ends up as long as our wait for the fourth.

Just noticed this on the edge of my Shout! Factory e-newsletter....

Can't find anything on the website except a link to an art contest that says the winners will be included in the DVD release in 2011.

Yes!

Now if they would only releases season three, that thing was out for about five minutes and I didn't get a chance to get it.

The Manatee

Barfly. A great movie on its own but could also use a rifftrax.

The stuff about the artwork contest says that the winner will be included in the release of "The Complete Series" DVD set.  So, again like the Bullwinkle set, if you've been getting the stuff all along you gotta double dip some - but at least there it's more than one missing season in play.

Well the only Reboot I own is season 4 and that is just two movies that i picked up for $5 a few years ago so i am not upset.  Season three got a release but that was years and years ago and it has been out of print for a long time, seasons one and two have never been released before so I do not mind this at all.

#385

In mid-January.  Guess they're figured this isn't something people would know their relatives would want for Xmas so they're counting on the people with gift cards to use.... ;)

Also, Bambi and the animated Alice In Wonderland will be re-released - BD and DVD.  Alice on February 1st and Bambi a month later.

Criterion has been busy.  They're releasing Robinson Crusoe on Mars in BD (Jan. 11).  They're also releasing The Sweet Smell of Success (Feb. 22) and Broadcast News (Jan 25) with their usual care...

On the other hand, Ishtar and Barb Wire are being released on BD....

EDIT:  And for those of you who might be looking for Leprechaun movies for iRiffs....hold off until Jan. 4th.  Someone finally figured out that these should all be in one set....$9.98.

Thrifty

That's a 4 disc set, but there are 6 Leprechaun movies.  So close and yet so far.

Especially since the series really takes off after 5

No, I'd rather stay as far out of the hood as possible, thank you!
