Whats the point of having a non HD tv show on Blu Ray anyway? I dont get it.

Less discs. DVD- 4, Blu Ray- 3. Also, it was cheaper than the DVD set.

Then since the theory is that the extra space on the BD is supposed to be for the improved sound and picture - yet here it's apparently being used to fit more product on a disc - that there's no improvement at all to the quality of the video or audio?  Otherwise it would take the same amount of discs.

Not necessarily. Not saying that is the case for this set, I really have no idea, and don't really care enough to research it, but there is enough room on a blu ray disc to add more content and upgrade the audio/video.

Did they not remaster it?

It was shot on film, and presented on TV 16:9. There's very little chance the set's not hi-def (when the Universal HD Channel was starting out, Firefly was one of the first series they showed).

Yeah. Walmart and Target also both honor the coupons and tend to have the blu-ray combos for a few dollars less. I haven't bought a Disney Blu-ray for full price since I started collecting them, and I have a LOT of them. :^)

For those of you with a Fry's in the area, they now make a big deal about matching internet prices. A couple weeks ago, I got a Sony STR-DN1010 receiver for $277 (Fry's normal price is $400), by matching Amazon.

It was kind of a happy accident: At the moment I proposed the price-match, it was $285 on Amazon; by the time they pulled it up, it had gone down to $277 (a price it hasn't been since then).
