There you go. This is still a joke, but it doesn't deter from the fact that he was a nazi(even though most germans back then were).

I guess a joke is all fine and good, but I'm missing the part where being drafted into the German army at age 16 made him a member of the Nazi party. "Pope's Nazi Past" for the title of the article is misleading at best and an outright misrepresentation at worst. By that definition every conscripted American soldier who fought in Vietnam was a LBJ Democrat.

True. There IS, however, something very wrong with being the BSA these days. That, however, is no fault of the kids.

Technically, I shouldn't have been able to be a boyscoutt, because I'm an Atheist.  But I just didn't tell anybody about it while I was.  It's a public organization that gets funding from the government, but they won't let homosexuals or atheists join.

If you are over thirty, the BSA is NOT the organization you knew growing up.
In the early 80's they got taken over almost completely by the Mormon church (these are the same assholes who gave us such nonsense as "no sex until marriage," the basis of all those FAILED "abstinence-only" sex-ed programs around the country). They changed the rules to include such gems as prohibitions against having homosexual or atheist kids involved with Scouting (despite what some have claimed, these prohibitions did not exist previously). These policies are BLATANT discrimination; and with the substantial monies the organization receives from government agencies on the local, state and federal level, their attempt to pass themselves off as a private organization (and thus exempt from government regulation regarding such discrimination) doesn't display much of the honesty called for in the Boy Scout Oath.
