I despise Batman Begins with every fiber of my being....

Are you Joel Schumacher??

Might possibly be. I don't see how you could think a movie in the top 90 best films of all time on IMDB could be explained with the same hate that might be reserved for Leprechaun 25. But hey, everybody is entitled to their long-winded opinion. I'm reserving mine for Red Dawn. ;D

Kinda makes me question myself.  If it is possible to be that wrong in hating a movie, maybe some of the movies I hate are actually pretty good...  I hate sin city with a similarly unpopular passion. I wonder if there's any connections between our viewing experiences of these movies.

Did something happen to you while watching Sin City?  Did it involve circus clowns?

Maybe not, maybe you've just got really crappy taste.

Don't feel bad... While I wouldn't use the word "hate", as I thought they were both decent enough, but Batman Begins and Sin City I think are a little overrated. I mean Sin City definitely oozed style, but I can only assume something was lost on me due to not being familiar with the source material. When it was over I couldn't imagine what all the hype was about.

That's why you don't see me hating on many movies. Even if I don't enjoy a movie, there's usually someone (often many) that DOES enjoy it, and I figure that's who the movie was trying to reach. I'm sure not going to put that much effort into taking a movie from its target audience. I just gotta accept that not every movie is targeting me. :^)
Now this doesn't mean there aren't BAD movies. Some movies are flawed in their very execution. Some of us enjoy a pod race, but I don't think anyone thinks that riding a jet fighter is as easy as breaking a horse (Or at least they shouldn't.) Those fundamentally flawed movies are much more deserving of scorn. The cop-out ending of Over The Top, the Cop-Out EVERYTHING of Battlefield Earth, the incomprehensibility of Dr. Moreau. These are things that EVERYONE can agree on. :^)

EDIT: I elaborated now that I'm off my phone and not tied to a 500 character limit. :^)

Don't be silly. NOBODY's Joel Schumacher.

Just to make things as clear as an un-muddied lake, I do like batman begins, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Eckhart was great in Thank You For Smoking. I think he'll do a fine job as a non-Tommy-Jones-crapped-upon Two-Face.

I don't blame Tommy Lee Jones; he was clearly given NOTHING to work with in the script (Akiva Goldsman is to screenwriting what Renny Harlin is to directing).

I call misuse of the rimshot smiley there.  To movie nerds (like myself) Renny "never made a good movie ever" Harlin is fairly infamous, not obscure.  Akiva Goldsman is not as as bad as you say, gbeenie.  I've enjoyed a number of his adaptations...of course Batman & Robin certainly not one of them.

And they challenge the rimshot. We go to review... and the ruling on the field stands!

Dammit!  I thought I had that one, but I gotta say, the ref was slightly biased.
