I would also like to see a biography of the real FDR:  Torturing babies, murdering American citizens, and making a pact with unholy Satan to create the a-bomb and destroy Japan.

Don't forget his ceaseless collaborations with the ape-men of Neptune to drain the Earth's core of all heat.

No, that one was Hitler.  Don't feel embarrassed though, FDR and Hitler are very easy to mix up.

Was it FDR then who fired his pipe with the soft foot-bones of wide-eyed newborns?

No, I think that was Gandhi.

I just thought of something I want to see:  A disaster movie that doesn't end on a hopeful note.  I know, that sounds really bleak.  But take The Day After Tomorrow:  If another ice age came, thanks to "a critical desalinization point" (the best line ever!) we wouldn't just run to Mexico and be safe and warm.  We'd be screwed in the most hardcore of ways.  An intelligent disaster film would be really interesting.

Though then again, there's The Road...
I like artificial grape flavor, but I hate real grapes.  A paradox!?

I wanna see The Incredibles re released to theaters in 3D.

I could watch knowing...but that violates parts of the Geneva convention.

I wanna see fewer CGI created things in movies and more real things computer composited into the scene. Instead of creating a CGI creature, have a person in a suit/makeup, or a puppet filmed on black or green screen and composited in. With that you have so much freedom with what you can create since it doesn't have to be on set and you still get the realism. I really love the idea of how they did the Queen Alien, with the two people in a suit in different positions so you get inhuman proportions and motion, but it's still real. In that movie, they had it on set because they had to. But imagine taking that concept further and doing it on it's own for composit into the scene laer. That way you aren't limited to size, you can get rid of cables, wires, rods, etc.

The problem with that is fully CGI = less people to hire = smaller budget. It's more "use CGI only when you REALLY need it."

And what, are you saying an actor can't believably react to a menacing tennis ball?

Doctor Who?

I think actors are getting better at learning how to react to CGI,and that is what really sells it.  There was an adjustment period but I think we are mostly past that now.  The trouble with in camera effects is that 9 times out of 10 it takes a massive budget and a lot of time to make things look decent.  Not that there are not a lot of old style SFX movies that look good and that I like, but I love the freedom CGI has given film makers.  Like any other SFX if the film makers use it badly the movie will be bad,but that is just as true with old style SFX.

I have no problem with CGI it is a tool like any other.  I think it has done a lot of good.  If we were still stuck using in camera effects things like New Doctor Who,District 9,and Babylon 5 would never get made because there just wouldn't be enough money.  I like CGI because when it is used well it allows even tv shows to look good now with out blowing the budget.

I think CGI can be done well, but for actors, I prefer old school style of makeup and what have you, mainly because of the uncanny valley effect.  The Navi in Avatar looked painfully unrealistic because of that.

As far as practical effects, I think CGI can do a better job.  Imagine if Christopher Lee had to light saber fight a puppet in The Clone Wars instead of a CGI Yoda.  The only good part of that film would have been ruined!

Oh, and something I want to see, but will never happen in a million years:  A Star Wars reboot.

I'll bet it'll happen in the next 20 years.
