I think there have been a few movies where the villain won.

I'd like a sequel to The Breakfast Club.  I heard once that the original idea was to make a new Breakfast Club film every ten years or so, tracking the characters lives.  It's too bad that fell through, because it isn't like the cast of The Breakfast Club is that busy nowadays.

I would also like to see a biography of the real FDR:  Torturing babies, murdering American citizens, and making a pact with unholy Satan to create the a-bomb and destroy Japan.

Frankly, I've seen enough of WWII. What about WWI? We had Flyboys, and...well, that's the only WWI movie of recent existence that I can remember (aside from that film Passchendaele out of Canada, but I haven't seen that yet.)

Yeah we need more WWI movies. i like how the 90s version of "A Little Princess" (not the shirley temple) changes the book so the reason she's put in the school is because her father goes to fight in WWI. There aren't too many WWI films. Sergeant York is one of the best.

A recent WWI movie was Joyeux Noël (was more about the Christmas Truce than the actual war, but it still counts).

Have you seen the more recent version of A Little Princess.  It's much better (though I don't know how faithful it is to the original source either).

I'm just saying i sick of seeing movies that paint the US as pure good in WW2,that was not the case.

I mean we A bombed two cities in a country that was no longer a threat just to show the world that we could do it.

If there's a history thread or something I'd be glad to help educate you as to the utter completeness of your wrongitude, sir.  Or PM. :)

People on all sides did things they wish they hadn't done in WWII. And in pretty much every war ever fought. There.

I would like to see more movies that aren't afraid of ending in a non-happy manner. That was one of the reasons I actually kinda liked Cloverfield - for all the annoying "OH GOD"s, it at least had the balls to go out the way it did. The ending was the main reason a lot of my friends hated the movie, but I give credit to the writers for not going with the miraculous happy ending.

I mean, just once - just once, can a villain actually defeat the hero? Please? Hollywood? I would love to see that.

To Live and Die in L.A. has a pretty good ending in that vein, IMO.

No, that one was Hitler.  Don't feel embarrassed though, FDR and Hitler are very easy to mix up.

You know what would be cool? If Sean Connery played the villain in the next Bond film. Or some later Bond film ater the next one. I mean, production's currently on hold for Bond 23 right now thanks to MGM's financial troubles, so they'd have plenty of time to ask him. It'd certainly almost redeem him for The Avengers...

I like the idea of Sean Connery playing a villian in a Bond movie, but it feels a little gimmicky to me.  Waht I'd like to see with Bond is some short films.  If you go see a movie, say, there will be a James Bond short at the beginning.  I think that would be something really cool.  Also, it would save me from having to see Bradford Howe's looming visage everytime I want to see a movie.

By the way, it is impossible to find pictures of this guy on the Screenvision set.  Theory:  he is a wizard.

Sir, I would to ask how you managed to sneak into my head and steal my idea.  I'd imagined it would be sort of funny to have him show up and somebody say, "The Original Bond!  But why?"  "Why?!?  Becaush I wash pasht ovar, shent into retirement with barely a thank you!  I sherved my country all these yearsh, and THISH is what hoppensh!"

Of course, this only works with the "Every Bond is a Different Bond" theory, which isn't how it works, but it's fun to picture.

Honestly, I think that idea would've been great 10 years ago.  He's too old and too retired to want to go back to the Bond movies.  Besides, how good is his relationship with the Broccollis after Never Say Never Again?

Timothy Dalton isn't too old for the job though, or if you want to be totally radical - Pierce Brosnan.

TImothy Dalton playing a Bond villain is a good idea. He was badass in Hot Fuzz.

Was it FDR then who fired his pipe with the soft foot-bones of wide-eyed newborns?
