From the same guy who gave us the epic 70 minute review of Phantom Menace is a shorter two part Avatar review (most likely shorter because he only had trailer footage and so forth to use, but still hilarious.)

I liked the mention of the brutality of non industrialized societies, people can be arseholes/ downright evil regardless of the level of their tech.

You've a bigger bird?!!! Fuck you!!

So I'm getting all caught up on my podcasts, and SModcast's "LoveCats" is such a riot! The Enemy Mine/Cats references, and the origins of Pussytar...golden.

Where's the singing?!!!

You're confusing Avatar with Cats? I guess I am!

Where's Rum tum tugger?!

Careful with those exclamation points, there isn't any call for you to shout it.

I can't believe I even know enough of the damn lyrics to make that joke.

Entertainment Weekly says they got four Academy voters to say how they voted in this year's Oscars

QuoteWe've got the winners for the 2010 Oscar race! That is, if the four Oscar members who agreed to share with us their choices for the top six categories are a representative sample of the entire 7,000-member voting body.

While their choices were split in many categories, there were some shoo-ins, especially in the male acting categories. Like many have already predicted, our micro-sample says Jeff Bridges will take the statue for Best Actor and Christoph Waltz will be walking away with Best Supporting. "He blew my brain off," our unnamed producer said of Waltz's portrayal of Colonel Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds.

The foursome also confirmed that the most contentious races lie in the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress categories. Surprisingly, while all the attention has turned to Sandra Bullock as the front runner for Best Actress, our group of voters chose Meryl Streep by a 3-1 margin. "As far as I was concerned it was Julia, not Julie & Julia," says our director of Streep's role as Julia Child. And while The Hurt Locker was admired by the group, Avatar walked away with Best Picture, also by a 3-1 margin. "It's like Fantasia for adults," says our anonymous actress.

If Avatar wins it will prove that the Oscars are worthless.  It's just a statue they give you fro making the most money.  It has nothing to do with the art of film making.
Oh, Doc.  You're so reliable for hyperbolic exclamations.  The reason they nominated 10 Best Pics this year is cuz lately, the Academy hasn't been nominating big budget movies.  Friggin Dark Knight was ONE year ago and already you've forgotten!?!?  The combined gross of ALL the Best Pics of 2005 (only five freakin years ago) didn't even TOTAL $100M.  The last time a Best Pic winner was the highest grossing movie of the year was 2003 (for LOTR).  And before that I think it was Titanic.  Now go take some pills and do more than 0% research before you say ridiculous poop like that.  You're gonna drive me to pills if you keep talking about stuff you don't know about.

I guess you just cannot be pleased.   ::)

EDIT: Doc's post is gone and my post no longer makes sense. So I instead replace it with a secret code made up of emoticons.

Your mistake there Courtney was not quoting him, is this the third time this week Who's said something very silly and then deleted his posts AFTER having them (fairly) reasonably responded to?

Look every time I say something you people don't agree with you come after me.  You make it personal and come after me in every single thread and you will not let up even if I say I am sorry for not likely what you like for the reason you say i should have to like it so I delete the posts so that you people will stop riding me all the time.

Quote from: Doctor Who? on March 02, 2010, 05:42:55 PMI think the mods really need to make a list of what we have to like and the reason we have to give for liking it in order to post here.

Maybe they'll do that once you provide a list of things you'll overreact about when people explain why they disagree with you.

Again with the overreaction!  Do you really see what Stansimpson said is an 'attack'?  You get what you give my friend, you're one of about 4 people on here who almost never have anything good to say about anything or anyone and people react accordingly.

Also, in this case he (and Courtney's) responses had nothing to do with your opinion and everything to do with your being factually incorrect.
