2007: Grindhouse

Which one? Or just "Grindhouse" the way it was supposed to be? (Two movies with an intermission.)

Yeah, I'm going with the full, theater-only version. If that doesn't really work I'll switch it for something else.

Nope, that works for me!

MUSIC: (This one was a bitch, by the way.)
2004: Strung Out: Exile In Oblivion
2009: Strung Out: Agents of the Underground

Now there's a band that doesn't receive the recognition they deserve. I'm still surprised to this day that the major labels aren't knocking down their doors w/ a deal, because all they've done throughout their entire career is record kick-ass rock albums sans their brief experimentation w/ the pop side of rock w/ An American Paradox. The suits are dumb.

Twisted by Design is a must in any punk rock fan's collection, and I still love Exile in Oblivion to death. Alongside Maiden, I don't find myself playing air guitar to any other band, as much as I do, than w/ the double-axe attack of Strung Out.

Such a great band.

Not sure about the label thing. I think it might just be that they're really happy with FAT. While Paradox isn't even close to being my favorite, I still listen to it and enjoy it. What I really like about them is that they take chances and can really surprise you with each release. When I first bought Elements of Sonic Defiance I was like "Wow! These guys are capable of some very interesting things." And while the musicianship has always been good (especially Jordan Burns), the guitarists are incredible now.

It's funny you mention Maiden. The dual guitar melodies in Black Crosses have a huge Maiden vibe going on.

Such a great band, indeed.

Just curious, anyone else listened to "It's all crazy! It's all false! It's all a dream! It's alright." by mewithoutYou?  (If you're a Sufjan Stevens fan you might like it.)

We should probably get started on this... I've still got to add a few that were emailed to me by friends and former co-workers.

Nekrose

2000. Martyr - Warp zone.
2001. Windir - 1184.
2002. Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage.
2003. Edge of Sanity - Crimson II.
2004. Bloodbath - Nightmares Made Flesh.
2005. Hypocrisy - Virus.
2006. Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side.
2007. Rotting Christ - Theogonia.
2008. Bloodbath - The Fathomless Mastery.
2009. Be'lakor - Stone's Reach.

Maybe movies later?

I think this project is still in the works, so if you haven't nominated movies yet, there's still time.

After some careful consideration, this is what I consider the be the best of the best, top shelf movies of the 2000's.

2000 - "Battelfield Earth"
2001 - Tie "Rat Race" and "Jurrasic Park III"
2002 - "Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones"
2003 - "Daddy Day Care"
2004 - "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" (Mel Gibson was furious when this movie was plugged by the Vatican instead of his own film.)
2005 - "XXX: State of the Union"
2006 - "Rocky Balboa" (This movie prominently features the lobby of the building I used to work in - I used to be with a Swedish toilet paper company on the 26th floor.)
2007 - "License to Wed"
2008 - "The Day the Earth Stood Still"
2009 - "Paul Blart: Mall Cop"
2010 - The year is young, so I decline to make any predictions yet, but I suspect it will involve someone being beaten with a spoon.

Yes, top shelf without a doubt.  Top shelf in the bathroom closet right next to the extra roll of TP!   :D

LordZordec

Well, the top shelf is where you also keep dangerous things away from small children and animals.

Decades typically only have ten years in them, so it's a good thing you left that last one blank.

LordZordec

No no no!!!  When I was kindergarten, I learned that a decade has as many years as there are fingers on our hands...thats eleven!!!   :highfive:
