Right but it's OK to be "wrong" since myths are ultimately mutable.

I mean Calibos is in that movies first and foremost because Harryhausen loved to include ogre types in his movies.

I've always been annoyed by the two-headed dog that's clearly meant to be Cerberus but three heads was just too much work for Harryhausen. Sad that Titans worked him into retirement.

Ah yes, the artist with the tremendous talent to make everything look like the same three or four characters.

She just needs a ten foot long cape that defies all laws of physics.

That's awesome looking, but no. I just think the design Harryhausen used (Which was designed by a female sculptor, can't think of her name.) in the original was suitable enough. It didn't really need much tweaking except to make it more organic looking. But I'm not faulting 80's special FX. There weren't as many tools to work with 20 years ago to create fantasy creatures.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

You know, now that I think of it, I found Harryhausen's Medusa kinda sexy back in junior high just because you could sort of see her nipples. What a 14-year-old Sharktopus would've thought of this:

Well, for one, you'd be blind by now.

Bland dialogue is bland, generic trailer is generic, but then, I suppose that would put it on par with the original.

A few mythic notes:

1. The two-headed dog is Dioskylos, an actual figure from mythology who had just two heads. Dioskylos is the Joe Estevez to Cerebus's Martin Sheen.

2. People forget that the way Medusa transformed people to stone was by virtue of ugly. She was literally so hideous to gaze upon that you petrified out of revulsion.

I think you're thinking of Kyon Orthros there.

Again, in which account?

Nobody is forgetting anything, Medusa has been shown in varying ways for centuries, both beautiful as well as ugly.

And according to the History Channel special "Clash of the Gods" she got that way as punishment for being raped by Poseidon....

There had better be at least a small nod to Bubo or I'll be cross.

I'll be totally bummed, Shark, if there isn't anything Bubo-related in the remake. It's my favorite character from the original.
