Tripe

I say she goes from simple astronomy to actual physics:

Twilight: tauon neutrino
Twilight: Charmed Quark
Twilight: Higgs boson

So has anyone read the book series here? I haven't (cause I'm not a sadist), but from what I've heard of the other books, it doesn't sound like Bella has a real character arc. The thing about her being so selfish and shallow (she is just an exaggeration of the behavior of the target audience: tweenage girls), would be acceptable if the series was about her figuring out her priorities and getting her shit together. But from what I've heard of the other books, it's not. If she were to start out selfish and over the series become a stronger, more independent woman, then that would actually be a REALLY GOOD lesson for today's tween girls reading this.

I got halfway through the first chapter before I just couldn't continue any more, and this was before the books became so hugely popular that you can't mention The Twilight Zone anymore without some moron asking you if that's some Twilight message board.

I can't stand bad writing and this book was no exception. The fact that it's such a bad message for girls only makes it worse.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"Joel, what's a Harringway?"
"About a pound."

Don't post that in the New Moon thread. You'll get trounced for dare suggesting that girls might emulate the ideas in these books.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Yep, I've read them. I obviously hate myself. Actually, I figured I should read them after we did the riff of the first movie just because I started to get curious as to the exactly crappiness level of writing in it.  I couldn't put the books down, not because they were good, but because they were like a train wreck. I just couldn't look away. Bella never DOES have any real substance, she's selfish, annoying and an all around c**k tease. Someone needs to go break Stephanie Meyer's fingers.

Any questions and i'll see if I can answer, I think... Lovye  read them as well?

Yes, "trounced" by one or two people with the crazy idea people don't copy everything they see and hear in entertainment  ::)

Doctor Who?

I hope it ends up like Disaster Movie and it gets crushed by all the big summer movies.

Alright, I've been waiting for Eclipse.

Because, I figure by "Eclipse", they mean the moment when the reality of what they're watching suddenly hits our nation's young females and their shame ECLIPSES the Twilight franchise's popularity, and it dies with a whimper.

I hope no one else made a joke along those lines.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

It IS a big Summer movie, did you not see how much the second one made?

The first two movie movies made a ton of money too but when one had to compete with something it bombed.  Hey I can dream can't I?

Ayriana22

Honestly, I'm kinda of glad they are making the next one so soon, the faster the movies get made, the faster the hype will die down and we can all forget about this Twilight shit and pretend it was a horrible, LSD induced dream.
