Are the Transformers movies worse than Twilight?

So, who would you rather stare at for an hour.  Megan Fox or the Bella Chick?
Guess it depends on how blue you like your women...

I think it comes down to one choice. Both movies suck beyond belief. So, who would you rather stare at for an hour.  Megan Fox or the Bella Chick?

Megan Fox might not be as much of a shoe-in as one would think. In Transformers 2 she spends 80% of her time on screen standing around catching flies in her slack-jawed mouth or being otherwise not exceptionally attractive. The braless running and stretching over motorcycles seemed to be brief highlights.

And not two brain cells to rub together between the two of them.

Am I the only one here not attracted to Megan Fox? I never really got the whole concept about folks like that, the "super-hot". Just seem kind of... fake, too me. Rather unappealing, all in all.

She's about as fake as the next pornstar, but I suppose that's not her appeal to most people.

The director was so good they fired them....blah, blah, blah....

Look, if I was forced to watch either Twilight or Transformers, I'd watch Twilight because I don't give a crap about the franchise as much as I care about the Transformers.

P.S. I'm a woman who is not a lesbian so I could care less about ogling Megan Fox or Kristin Stewart.

Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

I'm not attracted to Megan Fox.  She is pretty, yes, but not attractive.  The whole glamour look does not appeal to me.  I'm much more a girl-next-door kinda guy.  Give me Sandra Bullock over Megan Fox any day.  Perfect example is Scarlett Johansson.  She is way more attractive when she's not all dolled up.

Yeah, I'd rather watch "Twilight" over "Transformers"... because "Twilight" has the shorter runtime.  ;)  Oh, and I gotta post this:

Tony Farms AKA Puma Man

Transformers beats almost any movie ever, because it's 2 1/2 hours of suck, while most movies are only 90 minutes of suck.

Oh....you're into pain.   ;)

Yes.  I don't like Twilight either, on account of the cliched portrayal of vampires as seductive, dark, and brooding.  The characters are a little melodramatic, but at least I see characters.  With Transformers, all you get is overacting broad stereotypes and  cheap jokes.

I'll go with that, and add that I had a HUGE crush on Sandra Bullock when I was a teenager.  The Net just had me swooning (though today I just stare in awe of how dated it is).

I cannot deny, though, that Megan is hot and doable.  But she just seems (and some reports I've read confirm this) that she's the type of person who's personality is so repulsive that it subsumes attraction.

To answer the question in the title, or course they're worse.

Twlight, while full of bland and terrible characters, a cul-de-sac of a plot and a moral message that's too creepy for words, is at least a well-made movie. It has a solid art direction and unlike most Bay movies, you can tell what's going on.

Transformers, on the other hand, has none of these saving graces. While it also has bad characterization, plot, and thematic construction, the visuals are like a thousand high-end ads for Gillette attacking your face all at once, and at no time is any viewer aware of what is happening in any given scene.

In short,

vampires playing baseball > giant enemy scrotum

This was pretty much going to be my answer as well. Twilight, when you strip away the teenybopper lust elements, is basically just Jane Eyre with vampires. Transformers 2 when you strip away the teenybopper elements is still a terribly flawed script with no cohesive characters. It's a fundamentally bad movie on all fronts except for knowing they spent a lot of time and money on over the top visuals.

Leave it to Michael Bay to put the whole Twilight thing in perspective.

I just think it's nice that these two movies are basically polar opposites. Yet this community, for the most part, hates them both, to the point that we earnestly wonder which one we hate more.

Just points out that there's a vast number of ways to suck.

You can film a movie competently and yet if the story and characters are based on all kinds of different unhealthy and prehistoric ideas about love and relationships it can still suck.

Or you can use every state of the art trick in the book and if you do it ham-handed based on a really shitty script....and same thing.
