Are the Transformers movies worse than Twilight?

I was thinking today about whether the Transformers movies (both of them) are worse that Twilight or not.

I honestly believe they are. Because Transformers COULD have been cool, if Bay hadn't been hired to direct (by Spielberg of all people). It would have been silly, it would have been cheesy as hell, but if done right it would have been fun. LOTS of fun. So Transformers and Transformers 2 are 200 million dollar massive missed opportunities, that also just happen to be some of the worst blockbuster movies of all time.

Whereas Twilight is a horrible movie based on a reportedly horrible tween romance novel about sparkly vampires that goes out of its way to eliminate everything that makes vampires interesting or threatening. There was never any chance that this movie was going to be good. Heck, it was even directed by a woman, so you'd think she'd at least be able to have credible female characters, right? Wrong! Twilight was a failure from the word go, and really only ended up slightly worse than any of us expected when we first heard they were going to make a movie.

Sorry, I'm getting ferclempt. Discuss.

To answer the question in the title, or course they're worse.

Twlight, while full of bland and terrible characters, a cul-de-sac of a plot and a moral message that's too creepy for words, is at least a well-made movie. It has a solid art direction and unlike most Bay movies, you can tell what's going on.

Transformers, on the other hand, has none of these saving graces. While it also has bad characterization, plot, and thematic construction, the visuals are like a thousand high-end ads for Gillette attacking your face all at once, and at no time is any viewer aware of what is happening in any given scene.

In short,

vampires playing baseball > giant enemy scrotum

I think cfkane said it very well.  In fact, I would just repeat what he said.  Question though:

Abstinence is creepy?

Probably the juxtaposition of all the stalking, obsession and possessiveness to the abstinence that makes it creepy.

Plus Bella has a vampire baby that explodes her insides like a chestburster or something like that once the abstinence thing wears off a later book.

Yeah but evidently they waited for marriage....

No. The Twilight films will be worse.

Trust me. There are things in the 3rd and 4th Twilight books that, if filmed, will be much, much worse than giant robot scrotums.

I'm with you on this one. As bad as the transformers movies are at least you can laugh at how utterly retarded they are. Twilight is like watching paint dry...

We still have yet to see the result of the third TF movie though.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Hate to admit....except for iPods, Edward's fancy car, gold paint for onions or possibly the Cactus Growers of America....I don't remember any obnoxious product placement in Twilight....

I dunno, that's kind of like asking if it's more painful to be kicked in the left testicle or the right testicle.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

At least Twilight was directed by a good director and was faithful to its source, unlike Bay's opus of confusion.

The first movie lifts the hair, and the second movie cuts...  the will to live from your very soul.

I'm guessing that the third will slice you in the throat like Sweeney Todd.

The director was so good they fired them and got a new one for the "new moon" movie. Maybe, they should have throw in a few fart jokes to save their job. It seems to work for michael bay.  If the movie was true to the book... then I'm at a loss as to why people enjoyed the books.

I think it comes down to one choice. Both movies suck beyond belief. So, who would you rather stare at for an hour.  Megan Fox or the Bella Chick?
