On timeout

RVR II

That watching a silent movie riffed is actually quite entertaining! :D

Even those who wait may wait in vain.

Choosing to go see friends graduate instead of watching a live riff event alone in my apartment was the good and noble choice.

ShadowDog

I learned that any scriptwriter who lets the big bosomed woman die before the shirtless beefcake is a fucking moron.

I learned I like ShadowDog a LOT

WaffleTron

I learned that you could make an entire movie with every single scene shot entirely within a mile radius.  I also learned that the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were only the 20 years late to being the first to film around that big central mountain in dopey uniforms.

Thrifty

I learned that the Planet of Dinosaurs dinosaurs are only about seven feet tall.

I learned that you can swim fully clothed from a sinking ship, but must strip down to swim back even if you're already soaking wet.

I learned that in the future, astronauts will wear polyester uniforms with stripes that point straight to their genitalia.

I learned that, if you can't write a story for your movie, that's okay.  You can just show people walking around for an hour and a half.

First chuckle of the day.

ShadowDog

I also learned that you can be a kid who appears in 0.01% of the movie but get equal billing with the other actors who appeared in every scene.  SCORE!

Both happen all the time in Sci-Fi (sorry, now it's sy-fy) original movies. Sigh, which channel was it again that cancelled MST3K? Oh, yeah, that one!

Invisible NanoGhost

I learned that if you take your shirt off while on the beach, before wading out into some lake, then it's impossible to put that shirt back on.

Which makes it that much more tragic that the swimming woman was killed off so quickly...

I also learned that a PLANET of Dinosaurs can be made safe for long-term habitation by killing one dinosaur.

MSTJedi

I learned that this movie is damn near impossible to encode correctly.*

I learned that God is a perv.
I learned that the captain is so stupid that Jim (who is also stupid) sounds sane by comparison. Now that's pretty stupid.
I learned that women should never be given anything ever, they will only break it.
I learned that it's not funny unless there is a goofy sound to indicate so.
I learned that dinosaurs can be easily killed with pointy sticks and a single blow to the head, but a laser does absolutely nothing.
I learned that I should RUN RUN RUN!

I learned that an obscure low budget dinosaur movie from the 70s has THE GREATEST DEATH EVER! I can't stop laughing at Harvey getting gored by the Triceratops.

Hey come on now.  Sci-Fi saved MST3K and gave it three extra seasons, and launched the career of Bill Corbett.  Comedy Central cancelled the show too.  All shows have to end (except The Simpsons and, apparently, Scrubs).
