I ordered the VOD version (cheap bastard that I am), and the video is annoyingly choppy. Hard to describe precisely: the speed is correct but the  pic "strobes" throughout like a low-quality I-Phone file.

Is this from the source, and therefore unamendable, or should I hope to see an upgrade soon?

I noticed this too, but over time it didn't bother me much.  I kind of assumed it was the way the movie was shot causing it, but I could be wrong.

Which of the VOD files were you using? We watched the DIVX version last night, and I didn't notice it.

(Of course it just might be that I didn't notice it)

I'm watching the mpg file right now (for, like, the third time -- I think it's easily one of the best full-length Riffs this year) and the "strobing" is really distinct. I wouldn't mind if it was a low-bandwidth YouTube video, but for $9.99 I kinda expected better quality. . . .

I was watching the mpg too.  Haven't tried the others.  Maybe I'll check this weekend and see if there's a difference.

Yeah, I noticed this, too, but eventually chalked it up to it being a crappy movie. It's mostly noticeable during long pans and the intro credits.

Were you watching the MPEG too, MSTJEdi?

I am pretty sure that the DIVX doesn't have this problem.

Yep, the mpeg. I haven't bothered downloading the divx or others yet.

Hmm, weird. Did anyone notice this on the DVD burn too? I have seen parts of it and it seemed fine to me... but it's hard to say. Don't really want to have to redo it (this'll be the third time, if we do) but we need to get it right.

My download to burn;
Only part that seemed 'choppy' to me was at the beginning when the ship was flying by but other than that it seemed fine to me.. Undecided

Yeah, I guess so. It seems to clear up right around the 56-minute mark and then come back around 1:06. Weird.

BTW, am I the only one who caught a serious Suzi Quatro vibe from "Moustache Lady"? My junk is even more confused than by the original!

I just dl'd & spot-checked the DIVX file and, although obviously of lower quality (resolution)  I didn't see the problem I noted with the mpg file.

Well, that's actually good news, because it means it's fixable.

Yeah, but I want to download the mpeg again as much as Torgos wants to retransfer it. Especially after I already burned my own DVD with the choppy version before doing a full viewing.
