So, here's Sam's theme from the upcoming sequel:

(Embedded is disabled)

Yes, that is "The Touch" by Stan Bush. And a Linkin Park-esque remix.

Now, I'm going to listen to a bunch of Transformers' fans head explode.

That singer looks like present-day Roman Polanski.
On timeout

Great, they took a song that was bad in a fun cheesy way and made it a bad in a stupid way. Thank you rap.

Sure, the marketing grab is THERE, but I don't think it's the reason. Just serendipity.

But I'm telling you, it is the reason. This isn't idle speculation, all of the companies would have liked to be featured if they could have been. I know because it was my department that did the lobbying.

So yes marketing is the reason those specific cars were featured and why the money was spent. Bumblebee could have been a different car had GM not lobbied for his being the '09 Camaro.

Marketting is not the entire reason, but it helped out both sides.  The production didnt have to buy the cars and GM got really good exposure.  At the time the first movie was bieng made in 06 there was no garantee that the Camaro would have gone into full production, and in the new movie the Corvette Centenial is just a concept and will not be put into production.  People need to stop bitching about the cars in the movie when the entire premise is robots that transform into CARS.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Oh, more fun.

Some folks here may be familiar with Asylum Films, a low budget film company who specialize in titles "inspired by" big budget releases, such as Snakes on a Train, The Terminators, Alien vs. Hunter, Pirates of Treasure Island, War of the Worlds, and of course, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. Okay, that last one's a bit of an anomaly.

Anyway, one of their best known  "tributes" is Transmorphers. Well, guess what's being advertised?

And it's scheduled to be released a few days before the film in this thread's title. Gotta give them props. They may not be the most talented folks, but they've got good timing.

What pisses me off the most about Asylum's "mockbusters" is that everything about them feels rushed. WHY? It's based on big studio movies that take two years to make. It's not like they don't have time to spend on writing. Granted they don't have the budget for effects, actors, sets, lightinng, sound, editing, etc. etc. etc. But good writing doesn't cost more, it just means recognizing talent and plenty of time. Yet the scripts for these movies feel like they were jotted down on a napkin over a meal at Denny's.

If they actually did anything interesting in their films, I'd be all for them, but they tend to be amazingly boring.

Agreed. Even the actors seem bored most of the time.  Is Bulgaria really that boring?

Depends if you live in the areas where you farm barley and beets or the areas where you get you legs broken by the mafia.

Looks like after this one, the Transformers fans won't have Michael Bay to kick around any more...

That's who you feel sorry for?!  Barton Fucking Fink got a golden shower in the last movie!  Bruce Boxleitner should be happy someone remembeed him.  They could just as easily have gone with Gil Gerard.  Or Scott Bakula.  Or the guy who cleans Michael Bay's pool.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

From the article............"With Transformers mania currently gripping the globe,...."

I think that is swine flu, not transformers mania.

Transformers is certainly a step up from his stints in SciFi Channel movies.    I looked in IMDB and he seems to have played a sheriff in a bunch of them.   And why a "sheriff"?
