LOL  I wasn't taking up for the hideous movie by any means.

By the way, with this movie and True Blood both coming out last year, it made me wonder again why in the hell we never get Male human/ Female vampire love stories?  I'm sick to death of this Male vampire / human female crap.  It's been DONE.

Well, it was more of  a dark comedy than a love story, but Innocent Blood uses the Female Vampire / Male Human angle.

I do notice that male protagonists tend to get the more interesting and dark species dynamics.

It's not vampires exactly, but I am working on a paranormal romance story with a living human male and a more supernatural female lead.

I think in addition to the "protector" dynamic, there's some of the "all girls want bad boys, all men want cheerleaders" dynamic in the author's mind. They choose to go with the classical representation of females as pure and nonagressive and the men as the dark, broody, sexual agressors who go all "you are the only light in my world of darkness" and stuff. =o

Nice catch. Let the Right One In was great!

Damn straight. In fact it was so good, it actually made 2008 come out in the green (or is the red the good one?) in terms of vampire movie quality.

...But, that wasn't a female as much as an adrogenous castrated boy.

Relaxing Dragon

Picky, picky, picky :P

It still had the human male part down.

Alright, I've watched this movie/Riff....6 times now?  I've garnered a few new things.

1)  I think when the Biology teacher says, "Green is what?  Good", it is a reference to "Greed is good."  Not a GOOD reference, but, imitation...flattery.

2)  Laurant (black, dreadlocked, moob-showing vampire) says James is a great tracker and his hunting skills are beyond measure and he hasn't seen anything like him in his 300 years.  Yet, for such a good hunter, he's captured and defeated pretty easily.  HOW easily?  EDWARD (Mr. Sparkle) defeats him.

I'd like to introduce you to my good friend, Informed Ability. She turns up a lot in this series.

I learned that Kristen Stewart has the charisma of a damn turnip!

Let me demonstrate:

What do you know? Without the weird green filter (and goofy facial expressions), she's actually kinda attractive.
