So are there going to be any more voting sessions? Or have we stopped after Round 2?

GregMcduck

I'm still trying to decide whether or not everything has been ruined.

You mean because Children of Men isn't in the running or something else?

Quoted because it wins.

Seriously, though, Greg, you shouldn't let some minor trolling mess this up. On the whole the voting has been successful, and the results are the general consensus (which is what they're supposed to be in the end), so there's no reason to stop.

Yeah come on it's a good feature and the little hiccup in  one of the threads (which one was it, the fight club one?) shouldn't derail the whole thing.  :)

I miss the polls...

Here's an idea for you.  It would require a lot more work on your part, but I think it's a better alternative to just stopping.

Require everyone who votes to post in the thread.  If you vote, then create a post with the title of the movie you picked in bold at the beginning of your post.  At the end, the bold titles will be counted to make sure that they match up to the poll.

Orrrrrr, better yet, forget the poll program all together and just tally the votes from the individual posts.  I'm sure there will be plenty of members who will keep a running tally inside the thread so we know who's winning.  Hell, I'll do it if no one else does.  That should solve the troll voting problem

What I'm trying to say is, we need these polls... I need these polls.  Please don't give up.  You came so far.

Relaxing Dragon

It could work. A lot of people are already doing that anyway, so it wouldn't be a stretch to require posts for votes to count.

Whatever you do, I'm still all for the polls continuing.

Children of Men. This movie absolutely blew me away, but because it lacked a big advertising campaign it wasn't that big

Relaxing Dragon

Yet another post in support of continuing these polls.

Huzzah!  They're back!  Thanks a lot greg.

I'm probably the only native Irish speaker on the board. But, I enjoyed it damn it.

tá sin contáilte agat!!!

go pointe áirithe ;)

Actually my older siblings all do, I just muddle along with a few phrases and whatnot :)

Good on you, good to know at least a few phrases.

If you want a good all purpose, when some one irks you;

Fouc il leat (F* off, F* yourself...works for either). There are others, and you may see it spelled different, but it's my favorite for dealing with rude tourists. Deliver it polite as you can, smiling. Gratifying, and it leaves them happy with no clue what you said.

I'm very new here, and I don't know if my list will be legitimate or not.  But I am listing feature-length films.  So here goes, in no particular order:

-Amadeus
-Time Bandits
-Old Boy
-The Princess Bride
-John Carpenter's The Thing
-The Nightmare Before Christmas
-Raiders of the Lost Ark
-Ghostbusters
-Ichi the Killer
-The Forbidden Zone

Some of these are guilty pleasures, sure, but they resonate with me for their own reasons.  After all, wouldn't it be boring if the list was full of movies like Citizen Kane, The Godfather, It's A Wonderful Life, and Casablanca?
