Me too! I'd never seen it before but of all the limited cable channels I do have, The Disney Channel is one of them and it was on recently. It's really pretty good.

Royal Pain is well cute as well :)

I think we talked about this a lot when the riff came out, but I think Saw is great, and I don't consider it torture porn.  Hostel was torture porn.  The Saw sequels are debateable, but the original is a really well done and necessary horror flick that revitalized the genre.

I disagree about Hostel, but I too liked Saw. The only thing I don't like is the horror aesthetic it helped bring about:  Dirty and grimy = scary.

Okay, now I'm going to say this and this is going to be controversial, but Napoleon Dynamite.  I saw it the first weekend it came out in limited release and my friends and I thought it was hilarious.  It was different and small and just an innocuous funny movie.  Of course two months later it had literally taken over the entire country and everyone was quoting it and that's when the hate started setting in.  But when you look past the countless frat boy dumbasses yelling "IDIOT!" every five minutes,  it's not bad at all.

I think a lot of people's negative reactions to the film are based on the sheer level of the hype that came about. As a movie, I liked it quite a bit.

I like lady in the water, although it has a taint of self-indulgence, and it views a LOT better if you've never seen an image of M. Night Shamalamadingdong.

Exactly, that's a big part of the hate. Take that out, just consider him another actor (and in his defense he did a pretty fine job) and there's a pretty good chance to enjoy it.

And since it was brought up, I should say that I love the Saw series. All of them, I to IV (and probably V and VI); I love the traps, and I love Jigsaw. I'm not exactly sure why I love them as much as I do, but I do.

It took a couple viewings (and another viewing of that scene in one of my classes, and the teacher helped explain it), but yes. And I gotta say, it's pretty interesting.

If you read a transcript of the scene, it's pretty easy to understand.

And I'll to your sig, Tripe.  *ahem*

I enjoyed Starship Troopers.  IF one looks at the film as a propaganda film rather than an action movie, its far more enjoyable.

Starship Troopers is a very clever movie disguised as a very stupid one.

Also, GODS & MONSTERS.  Brilliant movie that also proves he can act.

Agreed.

Judge Dredd. There is just enough interesting things in that that I'll watch it again. Stallone made a great Dredd when he kept his helmet on (which, sadly, wasn't much), The ABC Warrior, the cannibals, Stallone and Assante having a yell off, a futuristic world where some technology doesn't work (admittedly limited, but something I've never seen before).
Granted there is no excuse for Rob Schneider or a pointless love interest, but there never is in ANY movie.

Excellent B movie. Sure, it's very cheesy, but there are some great moments and characters. The big evil-looking robot was designed by Chris Cunningham, the one who did Bjork's video for "All is full of Love" and that weird video for Aphex Twin. The whole production look of Judge Dredd is quite awesome, actually.

Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla is currently in the Bottom 100, which is surprising considering that it's actually not a bad comedy. It's pretty funny. But only 654 people have actually voted on the movie. It definitely doesn't deserve to be in the Bottom 100.

It is not a bad comedy, it is a HORRIBLE comedy.  what is worse than watching a Jerry Lewis movie?  What a movie that has a Jerry Lewis impersonator.  Even the French wouldn't like this crap.

Your opinion. I love Jerry Lewis, and Brooklyn Gorilla has a very good Lewis impersonator.

And stop with the French bashing. They don't worship Jerry Lewis. They just know that he's better than many Americans take him for. I don't understand all the Jerry Lewis hatred.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

so, let me make sure I have this right..............you thought Sammy Petrillo was funny in that movie.  Furthermore, you think Jerry Lewis is funny.  Just checking.
