(Checks the sample out) Wow. They chose THAT bit?

Nope. That's not indicitive of the general tone of the Riff. (Other than the complaints about it being dismal, which is a thread that successfully runs throughout the Rifftrax.) There's actual interplay and commentary over what's happening on the screen and everything. :^)

What sample? Where do we find it?. Looked on the homepage here and could not find it on the rifftrax sample page.

Just finished watching it, hilarious all around.  The rant from the sample is funnier when watched with the whole experience.  I'll admit I was close to passing based on my first look at that preview, but the newspaper bit at the end convinced me to give it a shot.  My personal suggestion for a sample though would be the first tour of the apartment.

Good choice, gives you a much better idea what you're buying.

Overall Matthew did great, he had his own style, he made it work, but from a few references you know for a fact this guy's been a fan since MST3K.  I am curious to know where this was recorded, and in how many sessions, seeing as how we get a brief Mike intro, plus Disembaudio is there for the sync lines when Kevin and Bill needed to find themselves a new toaster for WEAT.

I just finished watching this one, and I really, really enjoyed it.  Glad I trusted Mike on his choice to let Matthew riff.  It was reminiscent of other horror riffs -- mainly The Grudge -- and compared favorably, which really says something since The Grudge is one of my favorites ever.  Matthew is a welcome addition to the RiffTrax stable as far as I'm concerned.  He was really funny, in all the same ways our favorite riffers are funny, but with his own style as well.

If you haven't taken the plunge yet (provided you're not a solo riff hater), get it.  $1.99 here plus 1 cent for the movie on Amazon.  You can't beat that.

Awesome! I can't wait to watch it!

Well, I can, and I will, for the three weeks it takes for my DVD to get here.

If a PAL edit appears some time soon, I might download that and rent the local version to tide me over...
FINE

MUCH better sample.  yeah ill be buying it.  thats if i can find that lousy movie out here.  or get off my ass and order it

Thrifty

It was okay.  It didn't produce any hearty guffaws or belly laughs, but I was amused.

It was pretty good. Matthew has a real unique style of riffing, they're a bit more wordy then you standerd riffs. I enjoyed it, and can't wait to see what he does with House of Wax.

Welcome to the family, Matthew!

I thought this was pretty good, especially for a first try. Matt's comedic style was kind of a throwback to the early Mike solo riffs, and I found his accent charming.

Savantegarde

He did an awesome job!

Really this guy had me laughing throughout the whole thing.  But yeah, he could use a partner (or two) to play off of.  Not to say he doesn't carry the movie himself, he does, its just that riffs are always funnier when there is inter-personal reaction between two riffers.

But I digress, I am sold on the newest riffer.

Edit: also a .riff would be nice
