Well, and Mike was complaining about Inherit the Wind being shown in Biology class, that wasn't shown in my biology classes.  It was shown in English Lit class to go along with the play, but not in science class.  I also remember a disclaimer about how this play isn't supposed to be historical fact.

Actually the Banana explanation is rather scuppered by his culturally enforced eating practices. There is a "tab at the top" only if you eat the banana from the stalk end first. Many people eat the banana holding the stalk like a handle. I assume they are children of Satan or something.

Well, I do recall being taught the whole Big Bang/primordial soup/evolution stuff back in junior high. Maybe I just had a bad school.

The more I hear about this movie, the less I'm interested in it by the way. I forget the exact link but somebody told a story about the very same group questioned in the movie. They allowed other Young Earth Creationists on their board. So This Gonzalez guy doesn't really have much ground saying they're prejudiced.

My high school biology teacher didn't make a distinction between evolution and creation. She informed us that she didn't believe in evolution, that she believed in creation. At the time I didn't connect the fact that evolution really didn't have anything to do with creation...

Once she got into evolution she described it accurately, i.e. as a theory that describes the diversity of life, but I guess she couldn't wrap her head around the difference between what she believes and what science says.
