How did Mike and Co do? Discuss.

Solid work, just as funny if not more so than the first Fantastic 4 riff.

Don't have the first movie on DVD so don't have that RiffTrax.

It was good, funny all the way through, plenty of real funny one-liners.  No real side splitting moments for me, but the movie jumps around so much there's no place to build up a string of jokes to a big pay-off, they came close near the end with those repeated shots of the surfer dude just standing there.

It's difficult to rate it, being right after the hilarious Star Wars Special anything less funny seems like a letdown...

Very funny. There were some wonderful references in here that had me near in tears ("Nice Destro mask," leaps to mind). The first movie has always been one of my favorite tracks, and this one lived up to it.

However, I have to admit... I think I actually liked the movie. Don't get me wrong; it wasn't "good." There was enough stupidity to make it ripe for riffing. But it certainly wasn't as bad as the first movie. And I've always had a very soft spot for Norrin Radd. I almost wouldn't mind watching it without the riffing, except for that whole middle part with Doom... they just can't get that guy right. I'll put it this way - if this weren't a movie but a comic book, I would've totally enjoyed it.

Just Some Guy

I think the last few Rifftrax have been just about perfect.  I thought Missile to the Moon was a bit rough (Willard is funny but he doesn't have the riffing rhythm that the MST3K guys developed over the years) but since that point we've had Transformers, Harry Potter, the uncanny nameless abomination, and FF2 which have all been spectacular.  Whatever they're doing now they need to keep it up.

QuoteHowever, I have to admit... I think I actually liked the movie.

Don't be ashamed to admit it, every film riffed has someone who likes it (except the... shudder... SWHS and Wicker Man).  As long as you don't snap and become a fanatic demanding that everyone acknowledge that the movie is good in the face of it's problems then it's normal.  My feelings on the film itself is like the first one: I thought the minor character moments were enjoyable but they kept undermining it with monumental stupidity.  (Also I liked the very end of the first one more than this since the characters actually did something other than stand around and watch the deus ex machina happen.)

VERY funny. Even better than the first one, I think.

I can't believe how crappy the CG work still is on Mr. Fantastic's stretching. I also can't believe that for all of the purile humr they had in both movies, they didn't do the joke where it was SUE who gave Reed Richards the name Mr. Fantastic after sex. It's lame, obvious and juvenile. It would have fit right in.

I also can't believe that the General was giving the orders in this movie. Hero. Superhero. He's outranked as soon as they walk in the room.

As with the first one, I do think that the guys overdo the hatred for Johnny Storm. He may be a little impulsive and selfish, but at least he truly enjoys having powers, unlike the rest of them.

A little? For the entire first movie that was the complete depth of his character.

Tyrant

It was good. Really good. I actually came away remembering some of the lines which I couldn't do with the first Fantastic Four movie. There were some real side splitters with this one. Good job!

Every time The Thing said "Oh crap." I wanted to see Hellboy come in and beat him up.

When the Silver Surfer braught Sue back from the dead, shouldn't she have been a zombie?

Am I the only one that was thrilled when I saw the scene of Invisible Woman get stabbed? I hate her charater in the comics, and to have her played by a charisma vacuum like Alba in the movies just makes her worse.

On a side note, when she was stabbed (in the heart, yet she lives for a few more minutes, no less), shouldn't the wound have been oozing silicone?

Darth Geek

It looked like the Silver Surfer was making bowling ball holes in the Earth.

Ben

I have a feeling if 8bitstar had directed this movie, he would've turned the Silver Surfer into a guy who fell into a vat of T-1000 style liquid, made Galactus into a doddering old bum on the sidewalk, had the Thing as a human for 99.9% of the film, killed Mr. Fantastic during the first three minutes, and transformed the whole plot into a tearjerker-drama about Dr. Doom's inability to cope with his newfound impotence.

In other words, it would have been pretty much the same flick.  ::)

Tony Farms AKA Puma Man

It's amazing, Alba emits wood on screen and causes wood in the audience.
