Well, this will be the first Rifftrax for a movie I've never seen before. Should be an interesting experience!

So you are saying that you saw Crossroads before the Rifftrax? That is pretty brave to say!  ;D

I don't have a true ghost story to share, but I did experience some unexplained phenomena when I was younger.

The first incident happened when I was a kid. I saw what I later learned was a "shadow animal" at the end of a hallway. It stood about two feet tall and, although there was no light source facing it, had eyes like a cat's when it reflects light. Its body was darker than the shadows surrounding it but I couldn't tell what animal it was. We didn't have any pets and there's no way an animal that's two feet tall could have been in the house without us knowing it or leaving some sign it was there.

The second incident happened in the same house, different room, several years later. I saw a "shadow shape" form on the wall opposite my bed. It looked like an octopus tentacle with suckers and it looked like it was growing out of the wall. It was like a 3 dimensional shadow and it writhed silently for several minutes and faded away when I got closer to check it out.

My opinion: As a person of faith, I don't believe God would leave holes all over reality to let ghosts and what not in. I think that everything that happens that's considered supernatural can be explained by science eventually. We don't know everything about how energy works and I think that anything supernatural has to do with some unknown way energy is reacting/triggered with other energies or matter. This includes ghosts.

Indeed I have suffered through "Crossroads" before...but I hasten to add that I was RIFFING IT. A group of friends and I riff bad movies regularly, and this was one of our selections a while back. It hurt a lot. ;D

I don' t want to talk about ghosts or religion or anything, but can someone please just tell me if The Grudge is gross/disgusting?  That is, does it have people getting killed in bizarre and/or graphic ways? I don't care if a movie is "scary" but if it's disgusting, then it will make me feel sick, and then I'll remember the scene later and feel sick all over again.

I am just a bit too sensitive to disgusting/gross/graphic/gorey stuff.  So can someone give me an idea where The Grudge sits on the gross-o-meter?

To give an idea of my tolerance level: for me The Matrix is okay even though has gun violence, because it doesn't show the bullet-riddled bodies or huge blood spatters or anything.  However, The Ring was actually a little too gross for me, because of the one scene where the guy gets in the tub with a TV--that made me feel sick just because it was weird and seemed like a disgusting way of killing oneself. Also I don't do too well with depictions of sadism. For example, the scene in xXx where the scientists get killed kind of grossed me out because the nihilist or anarchist or whatever guy mocks them as they're about to die. I know it's just a movie, and Mike riffed it nicely, but I just feel sick when I see disgusting and/or sadistic depictions.  If The Grudge has them, I'll have to give it a miss.

It may be alright, as it's PG-13, and I get the impression that maybe Mike doesn't like a lot of gross-out, so maybe (I hope) he'll never select too icky of movies.  If it were say, Saw or Hostel, I'd definitely skip it, due to what I've heard about them.

It's sorta disgusting.... I mean, in a zombie/morbid way. But you don't see limbs being hacked off, or blood flowing like kool-aid

Hmmm.....blood-like Kool Aid doesn't sound half bad. Is it cherry or strawberry?

After watching Phantom Menace, I'm surprised the next Rifftrax wasn't a Michael Bay movie.

I haven't seen the Drudge, so kudos to you guys @ Rifftrax for giving me a reason to...I guess...

I'd say that The Grudge is very blood and gore free, and that's based on the unrated extended edition. As I recall, you don't really see anybody get killed. It's more of an atmospheric, things popping up behind people type of scary movie, which thankfully seem to be holding their own against the competing "geysers of blood" genre. Most of the previous RiffTrax movies are actually more violent.

Oddly I've seen them all before.

I'm not really sure what that says about me...  :-",
