Does the Grudge DVD need a subtitle track?  (Being set in Japan I assume there's the occasional Japanese dialog)

Yeah, there are a few instances of conversations between Japanese speaking characters where there are subtitles.

Sweet. I think I've mastered this forced subtitle issue. Thanks to Wiseblood and lots of research on www.videohelp.com

If you are converting to AVI, there is a program called Fair Use that inserts the subtitles automatically.

I've been using it recently and it seems to work pretty well.

Ohhhh I don't wanna watch this rifftrax. Never seen The Grudge because it looked way too "BOO! Haha I made you jump!". I don't like those kinds of horror movies.

But, for Mike, I'll have to grow up and watch the mediocrity.

LOL, it's more like, "SNOOOOZE, I fell asleep!"  Don't worry...

Looks like it won't be needed for this.  I just checked out the DVD for myself and the subtitles for the Japanese dialog are part of the video.

Are we still sharing stories? I don't believe in ghosts, but I do believe in demons. I don't care if the "ghost" claims to be nice or whatever they're all the same to me. They are there to either make you afraid or to believe they are something nice.

Nothing ever happened that I can say I ever saw a shape or things like that. Mostly it was things moving, feeling things touch me, hearing things, or seeing dark black shapes. It was all to gain control, to make me doubt my faith, and to be afraid.

Oh and as an aside, think about this: paper cut on the eyeball.  EWWWW

How about the expression "Keep your eyes peeled"...?

Yuck.

I saw a ghost once. I was a member of the Rollins College Theatre Department. Our theater, The Annie Russel Theater" is known to have a few haunts, namely Annie Russel herself. I was in the a section of the theater we call "The Trap". It's an area underneath the stage we use for dressing rooms and storage. I was sitting there during a rehearsal and started to doze off. I got the feeling there was someone in the room. I woke up and looked down the narrow corridor and saw a figure. I could tell it was a person but the I couldn't tell who it was because the figure was blurry. I closed my eyes and rubbed in order to hopefully get a clear look at who this was. Since I had just woken up I figured my eyes just needed to adjust. But when I opened them the figure was still there and still blurry. Everything else in the room looked clear. I rubbed my eyes again and this time when I looked up the figure was gone. The strange thing is that it was in an area of the room with no exit. It would've had to walk past me in order to exit the room. By the way "The Trap" is well known amongst Rollins theatre people to have been the place where a janitor hung himself. My sighting was one of very many spanning years and years. Could it have been my imagination? Yes. But I don't think it was.
Aaahh! This movie just throws you violently into the next scene!

In Europe last summer, one of our tour groups stayed in a medieval convent (still operational btw) and they had some REALLY crazy video footag of stuff that went down there.... The last thing you want to hear in a haunted convent is little German children laughing....especially when no little German children are around....

I disagree. I think the last you'd want to hear is little German children saying, "lets go kill the tour group." That might just be a tad bit worse.

Well, this will be the first Rifftrax for a movie I've never seen before. Should be an interesting experience!
