I've never done the 20 questions thing before. What's the rules, time, etc....

Hey' I asked about the rules, but nobody told me. So "King Kong" was my question. Fantasy? Check. 2.5+ Hours? Check. Made after 2000? Check. Not PG-13 rated..okay, I screwed up there. But I thought it had a chance.

I think since the newer people don't know me it's a bit hard to tell if I'm serious or not. I'm only half serious too bad the little dog had to pay the ultimate sacrifice though. Don't worry though it was the final sacrifice, I promise.

how is telling someone i love them not playing nice?

You were playing much too nice when you said that.  My scolding stands.

That is an awasome choice! And that is my favorite poster! I love it! Mike looks hilarious as Harry (kind of like he just stepped in from the rain), and I have to admit, at first I didn't realise Bill was Snape. That is awsome.

Although, opening yourselves up to constant requests for the other 6 (eventually). I am still waiting for Two Towers, their riffs on Gollum, and what actors/actresses would be great.

I'm hoping they give themselves a little Christmas treat, and do Titanic.

Sorry about that.  I, for one, thought you were asking about the special rules that normally go along with the 20Q's, and apparently, I wasn't the only one.

And your guess wasn't necessarily as bad as some of the others being thrown around, but a quick check on IMDb doesn't hurt.  Mentioning something about your thought process on the board wouldn't hurt, either.  If somebody steals your thunder and asks the question in the next round, chances are, he'll be shunned, so it's all good.

[shameless advertising]And you could ALWAYS pop into the chat room during the game to talk with the folks in there about any potential guesses, and chances are, folks'll be happy to talk shop with you.[/shameless advertising]

...which means that King Kong is in the adventure/drama category, not fantasy. Fantasy generally means magic is involved when it comes to movies. IMDB is generally used as the authority by the mods when it comes to genre classification, that way they don't have to make a judgement call. At least King Kong could be confused as fantasy due to the way Peter Jackson filmed it. I think people were mainly reacting to the DaVinci Code and Titanic guesses.

Looks like a bottle Bulleit Bourbon.  Mighty fine stuff.
Oooo.. That'd Be Perfect with the Thanksgiving meal! MMM! :P

Soak your turkey in it. That's what we do. It's a Redneck Thanksgiving.  ;D Seriously, we found a recipe a few years back where you use bourbon to marinate the turkey, and it's really good!

Drat!  I was hoping for a film I already owned!  (I have nothing against the Potter franchise, I'm just waiting until after the 7th fim comes out to buy the eventual box set and hopefully save a few bucks.)

Still, a very good choice, but I have a quick, minor, nit-picky fanboy-type question: Will there also be a Philosopher's Stone version for Canucks, Brits and other various non-Americans, will we just have to make do with the movie saying philosopher and the riffers saying sorcerer, or are the riffer's just going to word their comments so that they never refer to the stone by name?

Noted! THX!

I think I am one of the few people in the world to have not seen any of these movies or read any of the books.  I was going to read all the books first, then watch the movies.

It looks like that ship has sailed and I think I owe it to myself to watch this one untainted first.

On a side note, I hope that the "Passion of the Transformers" guy isn't into this series as much as the Transformers because I think he would just break down into tears.

Looking forward to this!

Two trax for the same movie, released two days from each other. One written by the fans, one written by Mike & the gang.

.....

.....

THIS IS GOING TO BE SOOOOOOOOO WEIRD!

Which to watch first?  and can I stand to watch two of them close enough together to compare them?  I like Potter and all, but there's limits.  Might take me awhile.

The Philosopher's Stone version will require some editting as well.  Not sure how much, but I have both and there are some variations in the edit.  (Hey, I might just get myself both PAL and NTSC versions this time...  hmmm.)
Good question, though.  I'd guess they'll dodge around it...  OR They might call it by both, talk about which is right, then start calling it something completely different.

Prince of Space

I am so happy they are doing a movie I despise so much. Added to Blockbuster Online queue.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the Sorcerer's Stone (USA) DVD and the Philosopher's Stone (UK, Canada) DVD?

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the title, but just want to be sure. Don't want to find out the hard way like with Fantastic 4

Read 2 posts up.

I have both on my shelf.  There is a time difference.  The PAL version is 2:26:07 while the NTSC is 2:32:12.  Not sure yet what was cut.  In addition to that, they also used alternate takes any time someone said "Philosopher's Stone" or "Sorcerer's Stone" on screen.  Not sure if that adds to the time differences at all.  I haven't examined them close enough to tell you all the precise differences.
