Wait, he would have added another 3? Rama's Bow.

Well so he says, I say it's bollocks.

Well all I know is that early on, Lucas explained the whole 'Episode Four: A New Hope' at the top of the crawl of the 'original' Star Wars.  That he had decided to tell his saga (SW, ESB, & ROTJ) from the middle of the overall timeline, three 'prequels' and three 'postquels' (my word not his...)

Quite frankly, I'm amazed that no one here has brought up that other outrage....   you know the one,  the fact that the 'energy' from the 'force',, the same force that surrounds us, binds us, etc, etc.... is actually due to mitochondria ...

I'll go you one better. When Qui-Gon is talking to the ship in that scene, take a close look at his "communicator":

Yup. 100 million dollar movie, and one of its props is a recycled Gillette Sensor For WomenTM razor.

And, to add insult to injury, check out Hasbro's CommTech Base, which could be used to make certain Episode I figures talk:

At least when Geordi LaForge used to run around with a "futuristic" toolbox (which was the EXACT SAME model of cassette case I gave my step-dad) on Star Trek: The Next Generation, he had the excuse of being on a syndicated TV show.

The universe in which "Hi, are you a lesbian?" is apparently an okay way to introduce yourself to a girl with short hair and an affinity for printed t-shirts.  If it's a guy asking me that, I usually respond with, "Not yet, but I'll be sure to think of you when I finally come out."

That's the same guy who bitches that what's wrong with women is that they won't even try to appreciate football....but if you dare to let it be known that you understand the game at all it's "So where did you park your diesel truck....?"

Either way it was a lot of dumb-ass crap about a "virgin birth" and a "chosen one" from a false prophecy....

From a time when all of the Jedi together couldn't figure out what was going on right under their noses - but Ben and Yoda supposedly had all the answers 18 years later.

And it's amazing how it took the Empire 18 years to build the Death Star and the same amount of time for anyone to figure out they were doing it....

There are 1000s of things that don't jibe between the original movies and the "prequel" that I don't even bother thinking of them as the being in the same universe anymore.

Isn't that what you get if you don't "shock" treat your hot tub frequently enough?

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

I'm watching "A New Hope" (  ::) ) right now and it's where the Sandpeople attack Luke....

After what Anakin did in Clones I'm almost on their side...."Yeah!  Kick him in the nads!"   :)

You needed the prequel trilogy to come to that opinion?

I liked Luke at that point.

He didn't start acting stupid until RotJ.

Oh I don't know he was pretty whiny even then.

I mean in accordance with Campbell's rubric he sort of has to be whiny at the beginning.
