Sideswipe

What? You liked to hear him complain about not being able to see the Power Converters at Tosche Station better that wiping out all of Jaba's guards and blowing the shit out of his sail barge?

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Oh I don't know he was pretty whiny even then.

I mean in accordance with Campbell's rubric he sort of has to be whiny at the beginning.

Whiny is different than stupid.

Letting the Emperor goad him into fighting Vader and then - believing all that crap from the Emperor about being unarmed - throwing his lightsabre away....

It was all I could do not to yell out "Dumbass!" in the theater that first showing.

And Luke hardly did in Jabba and company on his own.

Oh yes:

"Strike me down with all you hatred and your journey to the dark side will be complete"

"Or I could just kill you and go about my merry way, in fact" *swishbuzzfizz* "That's what I'll do, come on dad lets blow this popsical stand"

Which brings up the obvious question as to why Vader was still loyal to the Emperor when he didn't help him keep Padme alive as he promised he would....

Other than Lucas can't do simple plot development to save his life, that is.

You know... I was hoping this thread would be about Lucas admitting that he was on drugs when he "wrote" Episodes I, II and had the aid of a couple fanboys for the later-half of episode III

This is what I was saying somewhere else.  What Lucas should have done was just make a special extended addition of "A New Hope" with the last part of "Revenge of the Sith" being the opening of "A New Hope".

Then he should have done an extended edition of "Return of the Jedi" with the story of The Bounty Hunter trilogy books.

Oh yeah and take all the fucking ewoks out and replace them with wookies like was planned.
On timeout

Yes at the end of the "third" film you'd expect Vader to simply throttle the old wrinkly bastard.

Either that or (given Lucas' obsession over trade agreements I'm surprised he wasn't tempted to do this) call his lawyer, it's a classic case of breach of contract. :D

Last questions and I'm done....

Anybody ever come up with and explaination (even a stupid one) as to why Owen Lars didn't seem to know that he was buying the same protocol droid in Ep. IV that his stepmother brought with her and that Luke's father took with him when he left?

Or for that matter why they accepted Luke at the end of the third one since 1) they weren't really blood relations to the kid and 2) why chance Anakin was going to show up there one day looking for him?  Outside of Beru wanting a child and not being able - but talk about a scene they should have left in....!

Well... Because... Er... ah dammit!

The prequels further prove the 9 film arc story was utter bollocks; it was obvious beardy was just trying to tie everything to facts all ready established by the first three films, and in doing so completely ruining their appeal. I'm surprised Han and Lando didn't show up as a boy scouts doing some community work on Naboo.

And the one thing I expected to see - the Millennium Falcon - never showed up.

Oh, but it did. It's late and I'm going to bed but remind me and I'll find the pic. But yes it didn't play a major part.

Edit, actually it was easy to find so here it is from Episode III: The Whiny Jedi Gets His

That's not necesarily the Millennium Falcon. I suppose it could be any Corellian freighter of that model. (No, I didn't look that up - I'm just that huge a geek.)

RobtheBarbarian

I remember hearing several people quote Lucas as saying "Yes, that is the Millennium Falcon". So.. you know. Heresay on the word of someone who sets peasants on fire, but it sounded reputable when I heard it.

Like we really give a crap what Lucas has to say anymore.
