Like we really give a crap what Lucas has to say anymore.

You read my mind.

If Lucas said the sky was blue, I'd go outside and check.

I think Lucas would have preserved the awesomeness of the first trilogy if he made three sequels rather than prequels.... it would have just made so much more sense.... where do they go now? And think of it, all the original actors would be /just/ the right age to play their original roles in a next-gen sort of way.

We could finally stop asking "Why is the technology better AND sleeker in the /past/ ??"

Also would have helped if everything Luke (and we) had been told in the originals hadn't been bold-faced lies.

My parents saw the original Star Wars at Grauman's Chinese Theater where (of course) there was a huge line and everyone was making a big to-do out of the whole affair, including several couples who got married in front of the theater dressed as (drumroll please) Luke and Leia.  Think any of them tried to sue Lucas later on?

That's one aspect of the prequels I don't mind. I have no problem accepting that technology was more artfully designed and easier to come by before the Republic fell.

Dear god, did Virginia Andrew write their wedding vows?

But yeah that's another part of my "Lucas' master plan is complete bollocks" theory. He should at least have featured a scene in ROTJ where Luke pukes till it's just dry heaves when he learn who Leia actually is.

No kidding.  And I've got to wonder just how fantastic a jedi Obi Wan really was.  Seriously, old Ben Kenobi could sense that a planet had been destroyed, but he couldn't tell his protégé, "Luke, dude, quit hitting on your sister.  I foresee six-fingered babies in your future if you fail to heed my words."

Well, Lucas would probably argue that Ben had forseen that they would be seperated and Leia would fall for Han....and that that was probably what Ben was smiling about when Han said there was nothing controling his destiny.

But then, why did Ben seem serious about them getting away from the Death Star since he supposedly knew Leia was going to survive, blah, blah, blah....

I'm still working on this whole thing about the Emperor supposedly being worried about Anakin having kids who would destroy him....

Palpy was only worried about making attempts on Padme's life long enough to get her away from the Senate and into Anakin's arms.  Why wasn't he trying to make certain she died before giving birth....and making sure the kids were dead.  Couldn't he feel that the brats survived?

And if those midi-chlorines show potential in the Force then why didn't a totalitarian state like the Empire have compulsive testing and "removal" of these kids before they could threaten him?

And if Dagobah was just some random planet that Yoda decided to live on, what about that overgrown place where Luke felt cold and death....and why does it look familiar?

I'm starting to think Lucas told Leigh Brackett to make up a saga for him and she died without making enough notes for him.....

Tripe

I think there is the seed of a game here.

Somebody posts an unresolved (or poorly resolved) plot point from the Original films and then everyone has a week to suggest a resolution(or a more satisfying alternative to the one in the prequels).

we can then vote and that would become how it should have been.

J-Proof

That's actually a pretty sweet idea THR.....

There's so many questions that could be posed!

There's even quite a few from the /original/ trilogy.... Why do BOTH jawas AND ewoks say "ootini?"
J to the Pizzo

Apparently Ootini is a hip word amongest all the midgets in the galaxy

Which inconsistency should we start with?

bettertomorrowamy

What, you guys DON'T say ootini?  I've said it three times today.

Ewoks also say "Jabba, jabba, jabba" a lot.   Are they fans of him?

Tripe

Well yes they love his talk show, it's what they chant when a fight breaks out.

Since we're on the subject of Star Wars.
