Anyone have any haunted house stories? One of the most haunted places in the western hemisphere (government certified) is here in San Diego.

A few.  I grew up in a house in Redlands, which is also considered fairly well populated with spirits.  They actually mention it in Poltergeist (the town, not my house.)

After a beer or two, I might be convinced to let loose with a chilling tale of the beyond.

The PAL version I found of The Grudge says it has a run time of 91 minutes which, seeing as the NTSC version used also runs for 91 mins, it shouldn't do, right?

Maybe the website just stole the info from an american site or something. :/

Cool! another horror movie, I like that he picked a bad one this time though.

Good to see Mike's listening to the people (me).

PG-13 isn't all that bad...

UK15 is what they slap on the Wallace and Gromit movies, right ;)

So for those of you that don't know, I am a Roman Catholic minister in this Diocese, and exorcisms do frighten me. The fact is, exorcisms happen almost every hour of the day, and orders of priests have to keep their identities secret because some satan-worshipers see the life of a priest as being the ultimate prize for conquering.

J-Proof I grew up in the catholic church and went to Catholic school my uncle is a catholic priest and what you are saying is so true. Have you ever heard of Father Malachi Martin? You should check out some of his books. Though when you say your a minister do you mean a Deacon or do you mean a ordinary minister?

Aw, come on. "It happens every hour of the day but we won't proof it 'cause we want it to be a secret." That's such BS. Hell, if I suddenly witnessed a exorcism I'd sure as hell believe in God. The thing is, most "exorcism" are people with a form of Schizophrenia or another "mood altering" affliction.

just my 12 dollars and 16 cents.

Oh I almost forgot another movie that kinda freaked me out: Mothman Prophecies.
Again, based on true events.

Movie wasn't done very well, but its the story that got to me.

I view demonic possession stories with the same skeptism as as I do alien abduction tales.  Most of these "occurances" are more than likely night terrors such as succubus dreams and the like.

As far as The Grudge.......it for the most part is pretty boring (but Sarah Gellar is nice to look at).

Exactly. I do believe there are alternate forms of life in the universe. How can you not believe that, really. It's infinitely HUGE.

Ok... I'll start... Here is my Ghost story...

I work for Information Technology for a small Midwestern university.  I was working late one night and trying to move this persons data from their old computer, to their new PC.  It was not going well and I was starting to get fatigued over the whole process.  The building I work in (JonnyFrag work there as well) is well over 100 years old and is part of the "old campus" that goes back to when it was a Normal School, better known as a teachers college.  Anyway I am sitting there trying desperately to move this data over and I keep hearing this strange noise coming back the back of our storage area.  I was a little taken back by this since no one else was supposed to be there, and since the area is unlit at night, I was a bit scared to go back there to see what the noise was.  I finally got up the nerve to go back and check it out.  After finding a flashlight, I made the long dark trip down to the storage area.  I looked up and down the rows trying to see if maybe something had fallen off a shelf or possibly someone had left the back door open and a cat had wandered in.  After several minutes of finding nothing I went back to work trying to clone the users data over to a new machine, but was disturbed by the noise again.  I went back again to check again and noticed that the room was now noticeably colder than what it had been just a few minutes earlier.  As I double checked the isles, I kept having a feeling that someone or something was watching me.  I stopped for a bit and just tried to listen to the ambient sounds which now seemed muted by the sound of my own beating heart.  The longer I waited, the more I felt the presence.  All of a sudden the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as if something was standing right behind me.  I turned around and was shocked to find a spirit standing behind me.  It was a strange blue and gray mass about as tall as an average man and identified itself as "Peter".  I was hardly able to move during this encounter, but I was able to capture a quick picture on my camera phone before it vanished.  Shaken, I went back to my desk to call campus security and noticed that the computer that I was working on had cloned all its data over to the new PC, almost by magic.  The next day I contacted the campus historian who verified that there had been strange goings on in our building since it had been built all those years ago.

Here is the picture that I was able to snap.  It had been analyzed by several leading paranormal investigators and has been featured in several magazines dealing with such issues.

I look forward to other sharing there bushes with the paranormal as well.

I am not saying there is definately not alien lifeforms SOMEWHERE out there.

I am saying the Whitley Strieber alien abduction stuff is a load of crap.  With all of the modern technologies such as home alarm systems, remote cameras, web cameras, and sound recording equipment, in the year 2006, you would thing we would have at least one credible piece of evidence by now.

For a while I actualy worked (volunteered) for a psychic detective / paranormal research business.  I went on calls and recorded data... and generaly wasted a lot of time trying to find things that seemingly only the owner could find because he was "tuned in."  Over time, I realised that his "tuned in" nature was his sheer hope against hope that it was true, and that there really were ghosts.

Indeed.  If demons / ghosts really did exist there would be actual scientific proof.  People searching for thousands of years for proof and finding none should be enough evidence that they don't really exist.

That doesn't mean that people that have hope beyond hope that they are real won't find a way to come up with enough anecdotal evidence to make it seem plausible.

Nothing can shake faith in these things for some people... but it does mean that you are agreeing to believe in something when all evidence and reason points in the opposite direction of your decided opinion

Tomorrow the sun will rise and set, regardless if anyone where around to see it.  However, that room in your house that is 10 degrees colder than the rest of the house ONLY if a human is there to feel it

And just because others share your psychosis, don't mean you all aren't crazy ;)
