So, the Amazon MP3 Album of the day deal today is the Soundtrack to Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked.

So, if you've ever wanted to hear the Chipmunks sing "Party rock Anthem" or "Bad Romance" here's the perfect chance to do so.

A few minutes of runtime and a few lines, but one of my favorites from the theatrical was after the party at the beginning; in the unrated version Champ says he shat a squirrel and Brick says he ate it, which isn't very funny or clever.

The original scene plays out like this:

Which I adored when I saw it. I kept quoting the "And they would not stop screaming" line to people, and then was horrified when it wasn't in the DVD release.

When it comes down to it, I'll take absurdist over vulgar any day.

That's interesting, I never knew that (but then, I never watched it in theaters). Good to know this, since I've always figured the general rule of thumb for these sorts of movies is the unrated version is basically the same. And I too greatly prefer absurdest to vulgar.

But this wasn't. This was the original movie.

no really?i was just referring to the other movie seeing as how a new edition of the original movie was being mentioned and people seemed to like it.

For today, Amazon local  (http://local.amazon.com/ ) is offering a $10 gift card for $5. Limited quantities, certain restrictions apply, one per household.

Still, it's $5 free if you shop at Amazon.

They make you hand over a email. It doesn't have to be a real email.

Okay, a heads up here for folks who want a Kindle.

Target has decided to no longer carry Amazon products in their stores and starting tomorrow (Friday Thursday), all Kindles will be clearanced at 30% off their retail price. It still in stock, they'll go to 50% off the Friday after that and then 75% off the third Friday from now. But I doubt they'll last too long.

There are reasons why Target is doing this, but the net effect is no more Amazon at Target.

Further note- lots of reports that Target hasn't actually reduced prices yet. It may not be taking effect until the weekend. (shrug)

Oh, and hey! Want a free PS Vita? All you have to do is buy one of these:

The car. Not an image file.

Probably not a deal for everyone and you could probably get the dealer to knock $300 off the price of any other car so that you could buy a Vita with that cash...but hey! If you're looking to buy a Scion anyway, might as well get a Vita too!

And hey! It has 11 airbags. Eleven. That's safety for you and the whole starting lineup of the Seattle Mariners. (It's an AL team. They'll bring along a DH too.)

I think I saw that PS3 Move controllers are 50% off at Game Stop this week.  Might have to pick up a 2nd one so I can start playing multiplayer with my son.

Too bad I just bought one from K1. Though maybe I could get a cheap touch version and sell/give that one to a friend.
