Bay now has the "Keys to the Kingdom" -- my question is "what's he gonna do with 'em?".  His next non-transformers-related movie should be revealing...

You're making me think Bay's next film is going to be a mainstream softcore porno.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Bay's last six os so movies have had northe of 100 million dollar budgets and all made major profits. His production company has made several movies, many of them crappy remakes, that have made money. He's had the "keys to the kingdom" for a while now.

So who put people with shitty taste in charge of handing out the "keys to the kingdom"?

Come on PSCD, you should now by now that movie studios consider profit above all.  Artistic merit or integrity be damned.

I don't know....it seems to me like Michael Bay is intentionally making his movies aimed at a certain demographic, like people with a less discerning amount of taste (Such as the teen market.) because he knows he can get their money rather easily. Is he a shrewd businessman or a poor director? I tend to think of Bay as a pariah.

it wasnt 1 demographic that made Transformers 2 the first movie of the year to gross 300 million domesticly, or made it the second fastest movie to 200 mil.  A lot of people liked the movie.  It had higher exit reviews from audiences than Star Trek did.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

That's not saying much in some people's opinion.

That's funny considering that Star Trek got my butt in a theater. I'm notorious for not going to a movie just to see a movie.

Guess what other film had great (80%) exit polls?

The Phantom Menace.   :)

Just a hunch....I'll bet the exit polls for the Jackass movies were pretty high too.  That doesn't mean that there was a "cross section of the public"....

Finished watching now. It wasn't a movie, there are parts in the front that are like a movie. I couldn't really connect with the trsnsformers vibe after the flag draped coffins showed up. The megan fox robot truck thing was sort of kinky. Towards the end, there were a lot army ads. Lebouf reallt worked hard on screaming BUmblebee!!! With conviction. All the actors seemed to have taken an acting course from the micromachines guy. Can't say if it was good or bad. Not a movie. It just was not a movie
