Post discussions of season 12 episode 4 here. Title and first post to be edited to allow people to discover the episodes for themselves.
FINE

"Not now telephone" genuinely made me do a spit take.

Another good solid episode. They still seem to have the 'Tom flies every episode requirement', and 'Cameos can only occur off set' too.

Pak-Man

Well this one was- I have no idea. Stuff certainly happened. Intriguing stuff, I'd say. For a while, this created a sense of suspense until it became clear that none of it was ever going to crystalize into something coherant.

The episode was quite decent, with some good riffs. It had been years since I last watched THE DAY TIME ENDED. This and MAX AND ME are the only films I already own on DVD. The film is shortened a little bit, cutting out the opening and closing credits. I couldn't say if any other footage was missing. The film certainly has its strong moments, though. The stop-motion creatures are beautiful, even if they don't exactly do a whole lot.

THE DAY TIME ENDED almost seems to be interesting simply for the people involved. The director John 'Bud' Cardos actually directed OUTLAW (OF GOR), another film featured on MST3K. Some others would work with Charles Band later. Executive Producer Charles Band of course helped bring us LASERBLAST. His composer brother Richard Band also returns. Co-writer David Schmoeller would go on to direct TOURIST TRAP and PUPPET MASTER. This was Ted Nicolaou's first Editing gig, having previous worked on THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974), and then later direct all the SUBSPECIES films. Christopher Mitchum is the father of actor Bentley Mitchum, who appeared in a later Charles Band produced film DEMONIC TOYS. Stop-motion effects man David Allen would continue to work on Charlie's movies, even directing PUPPET MASTER II. And though Dorothy Malone didn't work with him again, she's probably the first of two Oscar winning actresses I can think of that appeared in one of his movies. The other being Louise Fletcher in SHADOWZONE. Helen Hunt doesn't count because she won an Oscar after making some TRANCERS films.

Another perfect movie choice. These last two felt more 'classic' mst3k to me.

I consider this one to be my favorite episode so far! The "They Might Be Giants" riff, Tom Servo's barbershop rap (EDIT: Not to mention excellent use of Baron's David Bowie impressionisms!), an incoherent movie loosely bound by the Deus Ex Machina ending, excellent riffing pace and riffer interaction, and

This episode is one I would pay $60 to see live if it were made into that format!

Time didn't really end, did it?

Pak-Man

No, it just kind of threw up all over.

The riffs and host segments was good.

As for the movie. Things where happening. But what's happening is the question. We saw monsters, UFO's, horses, firework effects and well done steaks(Which should be a crime).

The best quote from my friend was " WTF just happened?! I'm so confused?!".

Darth Geek

I loved Tom's song in this. It felt the most like the original Tom Servo than anything in the last two seasons.

Okay, I've watched this episode twice now, and I still have absolutely no idea what the hell is supposed to be going on. Can anybody explain it to me?

Johnny Unusual

Well, aliens showed up because a nova or something, then time didn't end.  That help?

I see one director saying to another director, 'My eight year old could write a movie better than the crap you spew." and the other director said, "I'd like to see you try that." and then his eight year old did, and this is the result.

That's all I got.

Wasn't that how Manos was made?
