FINE

Iron Curtain

I do know for a fact that people of Spanish-speaking Latin America think of themselves as Americans, so it's a cultural misrepresentation for them to call people from the US as "Americanos". Rather, they use the term "estadounidense" (literally "USian") to refer to a person from the US. We all know that "gringo" means "Yankee" or "Yank", but Mexicans in particular use the term "Cavacho" as a slang term to refer to someone from the US.

The fact that all this wasn't pointed out in the riffs probably means that it's a minute detail that would go over the heads of most people watching (who only know English and not Spanish). Then again, I don't know the demographics of the people who backed the show or watch MST3K; maybe there are a lot more bilingual MSTies who can also speak Spanish.

"But the cowboy didn't like him so he shot him in the faaace!"  ;D

Not a fan of Westerns and the million and one Godzilla ripoffs (see Reptilicus) fill me with dread in their sameness, so I really didn't expect much from this one. Really enjoyed it. First one where I listened for the criticism about the riffs getting dropped too frequently and realized the riffs were frequent, but I appreciated that frequentness.
The look of terror by Kinga and Max during the bots dance was the first time they made me laugh hard. Torn between 2 and 5 as my favorite so far.

Pak-Man

We got halfway through this before we needed to get some sleep, but 45 minutes in, I'd have no idea there was a beast if the movie title hadn't told me so.

linszoid

Wow, what an uninteresting movie. The monster sequences were hilarious though. I did like the riffs though.

Really enjoyed this one too, despite the movie being slower than whatever that Mexican candy is made from. Marzipan? Sure, why not.

Ooh, our first "Gymkata" reference! Either MST3K or Rifftrax has to do this one eventually, right?

"Changing my facebook status to orphan" made me laugh way harder than it should have. I love it when they go dark.

Pak-Man

That monster was something.

The host segment with Crow and Tom reenacting the costumed festival sequence is immediately one of my favorites ever.

One of my favorite host segments too.  Loved it.

Agree on that host segment being the best so far.

Johnny Unusual

Agreed.  There's something simply wonderful about everyone else unable to comprehend what Tom and Crow are doing.

Toyland Chairman

Started slow, but the monster scenes were the funniest. However the monster is so tacky and the effects so poor I can't imagine what made the film-makers decide to go in that direction. Despite the title, the movie for the most part is just some generic western. Then all of the sudden there's a dinosaur. I can't help but wonder if the film would have been "better," or at least consistent, had it stayed a western drama.

Holy shit, not even 15 minutes into this movie and a bunch of asshole kids almost kill a guy! And there are no mention or repercussions from it at all!

I finally made it through the episode. This was rough. I can't stand westerns. Just soooo goddamn boring. And what made it worse was that the ONLY thing that was done well in this movie was how sad it was when Ponchito lost his father. That was heartbreaking.

I couldn't believe that either.

I guess almost killing someone doesn't even warrant them getting yelled at.

Boys will be boys, oh well.....

Being dragged by a work animal was a fairly common way to die in the old west.
