Fantastic Four is stuck in a paradox. In order to be true to the source material, it has to be a little bit campy. In order to be viewed as a good movie by the masses, it has to not be campy AND be true to the source material.

There's a midway point, and the only movie I've seen successfully pull it off is Guardians of the Galaxy. I think the trick is to make it campy, but also make it so much fun that nobody cares.

So is there a youtube video of just all of The Thing scenes, yet?

I don't get why Fox is trying to emulate the Man of Steel type vibe, rather than the far more successful, and more loved by the general public, Marvel movies. Especially when Fox themselves has made the X-Men movies which are largely bright and fun.

Because dark is "gritty and mature".

Also it saves a ton on lighting.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

Is lighting really all that expensive? I mean as opposed to CGI?

Because they were distancing themselves from the last version. NO ONE could predict that people would actually prefer those to this...

The cool people get it.
I... don't get it. I'm like Homer Simpson with the Gary Larson calendar.

I'll tell you the same thing I told my last supervisor: "Maybe later."

Well, we can all feel good that a good Fantastic Four movie already exists.  And it's called the Incredibles.

Pak-Man

Everyone says that, but even though there are a couple powers that cross over (you could make an argument for 3 out of 4) it's not exactly what I'd want from a Fantastic Four movie. The theme and tone are very different between the two.

Honestly I felt like they were on the right track with the first couple. Alba was a bit of a casting faux-pas, and I won't get into what they did to Galactus, but they had the tone just about right. They just did a really bad job of selling it.
