Well... Power Rangers/Sentai is more about aesthetics than anything...

I find it interesting that people are lobbying for roles in this film. It says something about the popularity of the original series.

Me either, and I'm an out-spoken hardcore Rangers fan!!

I just think they're going about this ALL wrong...  Trying to recapture/recreate the FIRST series (the one most people actually have a specific memory-connection to) will do NOTHING for fans of either the original series (who don't want it ruined) or current/long-time/hardcore fans (such as myself) who would like them to make something NEW and "good" as far as movies go, and don't want them trying to have anything to do with new Bulk/Skull characters or someone "playing" and new Kimberly or Billy or whatever.

It's the worst of all worlds, really.

Well from what I've heard, Key/Peele are being vetted for Bulk/Skull, and they might be trying to get Liam Neeson for Zordon.

But that could just have been rumour thrown onto a news site. It was one of them TMZ sorta things, so who knows...

Either way, from what little they have officially announced, it seems very very likely it will be the seasons1-3 era, rebooted for darker movie.

Personally, I'd love something completely new and unrelated to any prior PR series, maybe even taking some of the darker, earlier Super Sentai series, PRE-PR, if they could get Toei to agree to it.... Maybe something like Jetman, Liveman or Maskman, and converting that STORY to a new Power Rangers film. Heck, even Dairanger (overlooked entirely for season 2 of Power Rangers... except the White Ranger's COSTUME) would make a good condensed-to-film story.

Just saying... there's a LOT of good stuff to work with, especially if they're going for a bit more late-teen of a feel, without bastardizing the one thing even NON-fans probably don't want messed with.
