this may be an interesting DVD reauthor job...never had to mess with a tv show before.

Its easy.
Just open DVD in DVD Decrypter in IFO mode. Go to the VTS that contains the pilot ep and rip the M2V and AC3 file.
Then author it just like any other...

Holy crap, that was the most convoluted and confusing 20 questions ever. However, I will buy the iTunes video.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

Pak-Man

AHH! CHANGE! WE FEAR AND DESPISE YOU, CHANGE! :^)

Seriously, this could be cool. I've always wanted to check out lost. Might as well start with the first episode and have some guy heckling it while I watch it. :^)

The Tick

wow battlefield earth took longer than i thought, so anyway.
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

yeah...I already got em ripped....i thought it'd be more complicated.

I'm assuming this will be a 2 part mp3 like LOTR was

BathTub

Slightly more fiddly re reauthor if you want both parts on the same disc I guess, might have to learn something new, eek.

Booya to that.  Seems like the Lost DVDs used a sort of dummy structure on the DVD, might make reauthoring more difficult.  Probably should start a specific thread in the Tech Support area.

I really loved season 1 of Lost, but Season 2 kinda wizzed it's promise down it's leg.

I've heard this sentiment from multiple people, even big fans of the series.  I've never seen Lost myself, so this will be an interesting iniitiation, to say the least.

I rceommend those of you who /haven't/ seen LOST yet, watch the pilot ep first, before the riff-madness.

How much will knowing the series play into getting the riffs? Obviously, there's going to be some Lost fan-centric jokes, since there have been some in wildly unrelated movies, but am I myself going to be.. um... not able to find my place?

You won't hear any dissent from me.  Season One was amazing.  Season Two seemingly forgot a lot of what was good about the first season, and turned the cast's most kick-ass character into a simpering wuss.

In retrospect, I think it was the relative strength of the first season, and ABC's inept handling of the show's scheduling, that made me dislike S2.  I suspect if I had watched it on DVD, or had the benefit of lowered expectations, I would have enjoyed the second season a lot more.

Absolutely, positively, watch the pilot on its own before you listen to the RiffTrax.  If you haven't seen the episode before, you're in for a treat.

I'm pretty sure, in fact just about positive, based on the nature of the pilot ep and the way that Mike riffs, that the only inside jokes would be from other riffs, and that anyone non-Lostie will be able to follow this riff perfectly.

Mike doesn't watch LOST, so he wouldn't be using Lost-centric jokes. And from what I read of the script, this riff doesn't rely on LOST mythos.
