How much money do you need?

I'm not gonna donate any money, just because that would basically mean I'm paying for a very expensive ticket to see a movie I already own.

I donated because, what the hell .. for 10 bucks I'm getting 3 shorts PLUS whatever movie they end up doing.

Actually, I think you're just getting the shorts for $10.

Well, I meant that yes I'll take the 3 shorts PLUS go to see whichever movie they end up doing Live. I have seen every live show they've done, but haven't bought each one for home viewing necessarily. If its mostly new riffs, I will probably buy it.

If they don't get the rights for Twilight, I am rooting for THE ROOM.

If Wiseau wouldn't let them do a VOD, I really doubt he would allow a live show.

I upped my donation. I decided that I wanted the exclusive shorts.

Maybe if they wave enough money in front of him?

I have a feeling Wiesau wouldn't turn down a fat wad of cash, and if I does he's way stupider than I give him credit for. I actually think he's brilliant at how he's managed The Room's success (if not the film itself.) But if he turns down, say, even $25k check, he's not as brilliant as I think he is.

Darth Geek

I don't think Wiseau would turn it down if they affered him money. But as much as I loved The Room riff, I'd rather that they riffed something that they haven't already done.
That's why I'd still rather see Super Mario Brothers. Honestly, I think Nintendo be harder to deal with on that one than the studio would.

Doesn't surprise me they reached the goal so fast.

Gave a little more, maybe they can use the extra for Super Mario Bros

goflyblind

why would you want them to riff a thirty year old video game? ???

Why not?  Luigi's just asking for it.  The bastard.

"They took my 'Room,' they made fun of it, they betrayed me, and I just don't care anymore."
"Here's a check for you..."
"Oh, hai, money!"

Sorry, couldn't resist.

While I, too, wouldn't mind seeing one they haven't riffed yet as well, Twilight isn't one I would turn my nose up at, certainly.   I actually have friends that haven't seen ANY of the riffs yet (but have seen the movies without them...poor bastards), so it'd be worthwhile for me to go to see, anyway.

I do plan on donating, but my current budgetary commitments are telling me to wait until my credit card statement rolls over to do so.  Considering there's still a whole month to go, I don't think it'll hurt anyone if I wait a little bit longer.

And in Wiseau's defense, the man did invent an entirely new and more roundabout way of spelling "hi" which has officially entered daily speech for a lot of people, which is almost Shakespearean.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

Given how much of a demand there is for both Super Mario Bros. and The Wizard right now, I think they'll probably do riffs for both of them soon.

...I think.

anyone seen the kicktraq "trending towards" number? two point three million bucks.  ::)  my, what a single data point will tell you.

Donations will probably slow as the week goes on, but at least they surpassed their goal in spades.

Trekker4747

Donations have already slowed to one degree or another, it shot out of the gate but I think it's finding a pace. Probably by mid-day tomorrow it'll have tripled its goal.  I suspect a final total of around $350K anf 6,000-7,000 backers, roughly double what's there now.  The important thing to do is for Rifftraxers to keep the KS active in social media for those who may not have encountered it yet.   Important thing is how much it shot out of the gate and more than surpassed its goal inside of hours, that alone should show Lionsgate the interest in the project supported by not only the success of previous RTL! events but the Twilight tracks themselves.
