RiffTrax recently did a poll of the Worst Movies of All Time. The clear winner: the dopey, sappy, sparkly vampire-and-werewolf romance known as... the TWILIGHT saga.

And what does TWILIGHT need more than anything else?

A good Riffing, LIVE, before a massive audience in a one-night event in movie theaters nationwide.

We want to do our Mystery Science Theater 3000-style funny commentary for TWILIGHT, broadcast LIVE over hundreds of movie screens in August 2013.  This Kickstarter is to help obtain the rights to TWILIGHT for that event!

Tripe

I'll see what I can do, I've also shared it with the world (or the part of it that's connected to me via social media).

I will sell my soul to Harpo. Will that help?

But seriously...I hope this happens. Is there anyone who wouldn't want it to?

my help is contingent on a single word question: canada?

That has yet to be determine d- that's a detail we're still working on. We will definitely let everyone know where it will be able to be shown. The main thing is to get the rights at the moment, that's the big mountain to get over to see what we'll be able to do with it - you, of course, don't have to donate now and can wait until that is firmed up. :)

And backed.  :)

I think you may be a tad optimistic about getting Twilight for the minimum amount on the Kickstarter, but I'm willing to put money into seeing you try.  Besides, I hope you get lots more than that.

I'm not a huge fan of the Live Riffs and I'd rather see the money go to getting more VODs like Cool as Ice.  BUT, I backed it cuz I like to support RiffTrax.

Question--this sounds daunting.  Forgetting money, it's possible Lionsgate doesn't want their property treated this way.  Twilight is still current and more money making movies or other media/merchandise could still be coming.  So the question--has RT actually had any initial contact with Lionsgate or in any way tested their interest in this?

Considering they made it half-way of their goal in the span of a half-hour, I doubt it'll stop there!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

This is kind of neat in that I'm interested not so much in the money, but the number of backers.  Rt doesn't release a whole lot of figures on their sales and I've always wondered how many copies of the average riff get sold.

I am still backing for the shorts and whatnot but if you read the full kickstarter there is chance they can't get the rights. But I am fine if they go down the list and maybe wind up with Super Mario bros!!

Pretty sure that is a given. Fathom has the network of theaters.
