So, just got out of the movie, and I only have one question for people who don't like it: Why do you hate fun?

Use of the Pacific Rim Defense is not applicable on a movie where science genius Peter Parker needs YouTube to explain to him what a battery is.

I'm not using such and argument because (I felt) Pacific Rim was STOOO-PID! ;) This isn't the same thing. This movie had silliness, but it also had a great story.

My extra-crotchety defense of my feelings, as written by someone far snarkier than I: http://io9.com/the-amazing-spider-man-2-the-amazing-spoiler-faq-1572405038

I actually feel like I shouldn't be as harsh on this movie. Because Pak is right, in that Garfield and Stone had excellent chemistry, to the point where even the weirdness of what they were doing together (the whole break-up/back together/break-up again/etc.) seemed alright. Those two are just too gosh-darned cute together.

So, there's entertainment to be had. But I still stand by my assessment that said entertainment is ultimately buried under a mountain of stupidity. We've reached a point in cinema where superhero movies can do better, and have done better, and in general usually do better. So I don't see the need to settle for this.

I really enjoyed the movie and think critics and some fans are being a *touch* harsh.  There's some problems in this movie for sure and some motivations and character things seemed out of nowhere but, still, I really liked it.

I thought this was quite fun. I enjoyed the Raimi movies, but I've never been a big fan of them. Sometimes it feels there's too much going on, and Electro's motivations are pathetic, but I enjoyed it. Stupid fun, which is always the way to go for me.

I know some people enjoy it, but everything I've seen confirms my concerns from the trailers. A messy spectacle with way too many characters. I am definiteyl waiting until DVD to see this one.

A lot of people seem to dismiss it because it's a sequel to a reboot which is judging a book by it's cover in my opinion.

I was only happy with about 50% of the things they did in the reboot.
