Very enjoyable riff for a pretty goofy movie (which kept reminding me of Hawk the Slayer, a shame that one is not in the public domain).

My only complaint is that, once again, you just had to put in a trans bashing joke.  I've asked before and I'll ask again - please stop with those jokes.  It's a very simple issue to fix, just stop doing it.

What kind of trans did they bash?

Maybe he means trans-fat... I'm sick of the trans-fat jokes too. No one cares about trans-fats anymore. The big thing now is Splenda.

I guess :-)  I thought maybe there was a trannie (sp) transgender joke somewhere that was particularly offensive.  I don't recall any such topics being touched but it's easy to miss something if you're not listening for it.

Yeah, I honestly can't recall hearing one either. //shrug\\  I guess I wasn't explicitly listening for one...

but if they start having to cut out specific types of jokes simply because one person gets offended by them, then the Rifftrax are going to end up just being things like:

"This is a movie. We personally don't like it but some people do. Those people are free to have their own opinions and we have ours. Ours is that this movie is dumb, but that's not calling people who like it dumb... Those people are just different than us and those that agree with us. Hey look at that guy! He has red hair. That's all from Rifftrax! See ya next time!"
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

The joke in Prisoners of the Lost Universe was during the cliff climbing scene.

Something close to "There's a wang, guess I'll just throw myself off"

Hard not to read that has a trans bashing "joke", one of many over the history of Rifftrax.

And TheUnabeefer your argument is complete BS.  I'm just asking that one type of joke not be made.  I don't see Rifftrax going after different religious groups or ethnicities in the riffs but the trans "jokes" are almost always there.   This is really not difficult issue to fix.

I don't see that as a trans-bashing joke. Not that hard.

And I  then shall ask that any and all French-bashing "jokes" be cut, as well as Canadian-bashing "jokes", oh and any and all references to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or Agoraphobia ... or any form of emotional, social or physical disorders.  Those things are real and something people have no control or choice over, so it's just offensive to anyone who actually has them. Oh geez, and don't even get me started on Religion or political views.

Anyone else want to throw a "I'm too touchy and I think they should stop making jokes about (subject)" hat into the ring?

In comedy, there is nothing sacred, and censorship of any sort is just the start of a downward spiral.  My argument therefore is completely valid and not BS as you insist.

I am Jewish, and I make holocaust jokes every single day of my life. Just last week, my manager at work started to say "I was thinking..." and I cut in with "Hitler was right?!"

I could choose to bitch and complain at each and every Jewish or Holocaust joke made in Rifftrax (which there very well are many of them), but it's not worth it. Why? Because it's comedy and it's all-encompassing.  If any one group of people are okay to joke about, EVERY group of people is okay to poke fun at.

My point is simply that if ONE person decides they want to get offended by a specific type of joke that they alone happen to pick out of each and every riff, ignoring every other form of offensive riff to anyone else... and then insist that the comedy team HAS to stop making that one form of joke, then EVERYONE has the ability and right to insist that the comedy team stop making any and ALL jokes that could possibly offend someone.

Unless that one initial person can prove that they are far more important than everyone else that buys Rifftrax, then the riffers have to appease every complaint filed about any specific form of offensive joke.  This easily leads to a riff with no jokes whatsoever and would be actually really boring.

so being an inconsiderate asshole is okay, so long as it's in the name of comedy?

It all boils down to "intent" ... if the intent is to specifically piss someone off, no.  George Carlin has an entire bit about this, as did Lenny Bruce... I'm just too lazy to find it right now.

But the jokes (of any sort) on MST3k/Rifftrax/CT have never (in my opinion at least) been for the intent of cruelty.  I always figured this was understood by their audience in general, but I guess some people just can't take a joke that hits close to home.

I have friends who get all upset and dislike a riff simply because a joke is made at the expense of an actor or singer they like... apparently not understanding that the riffers probably don't actually feel hatred towards the actor/singer.  I think those people just don't understand the writing process or that the riffers are basically portraying "characters" in their dialogues.

Still when it comes to comedy, if the purpose of a joke is to be a real asshole and actually piss people off, then no it's not okay (or comedy)... but if it's done in a lighthearted way that covers everyone and is not meant to offend, then yeah... no subject should be out of reach.

Oh and about the "trans joke" in this riff, the reason I don't see it as being trans-bashing is that to me it seemed more at the expense of the stereotypical homo/trans-phobic male than at the transgender themselves.  It came across to me as a joke essentially about how the cliched male gets all freaked out at any situation where another penis (not his own) is involved...  I guess I'd look at it as making fun of transphobia itself as a concept.

Example: In my own sense of humour, I usually don't make fun of races... I make fun of racism and racist people. If any joke is made by me about a specific race, it's done incredibly satirically where the inherent joke is actually directed towards the people (idiots) who are actually racist.

Where did they film this disaster that everyone drove a car with the steering wheel on the right hand side?

It was filmed in South Africa where they drive on the left.  I guess it was a new experience for some of the American actors.

South Africa?

Interesting, thanks

Lots of low budget movies have been made in South Africa. I think a bunch of the movies Reb Brown was in, too.
