Scarlet Witchs powers are whatever the plot needs her to do at the time.
Exactly, which is why I hated her character. I understand her powers are also rather nebulous in the comics. But then why do they specifically need THAT character? Couldn't they have gotten the same result with one of the many many telepaths in the Marvel comics? And don't tell me it's because of Vision and Scarlet Witch's love story BECAUSE I HATE LOVE STORIES IN ACTION MOVIES!

And Quicksilver was literally only in the movie so he could .  Are we still using spoiler tags in this thread?

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

How are her powers any different or more ambiguous than Jean Grey's?

Scarlet Witch might be a bit easier to swallow once Dr. Strange comes along to properly introduce us to the supernatural side of the Marvel universe.

LOL!

No, Jean Grey is explicitly telekinesis and telepathy. Which the X-Men movies have established well.
Age of Ultron gave a quick explanation which the character in the movie didn't even understand, and then just handwaved it away. It's really her being used to excuse poor writing is what bugs me.

Come up with one that isn't owned by Fox.

Couple it with the fact that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were some of the earliest Avengers, it makes sense.
FINE

How not going back to the mind control well again after using it in the first one?

It worked for the Winter Soldier.

It worked for 11 of the 11 movies, which is why I didn't think it was too big a deal to have mind control happen twice.

Punching is not plot device though, mind control is.  It seems kind of lazy using the same plot device in both Avengers movies.

It's the ramifications of losing the scepte in the first one. Makes sense.
