I would like to see Thor with his pants off, does that happen at all? Of course not, only the old man runs around with his pants off...

Did I just think that or did I type it...?

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Really good! Not as good as the first Avengers, but still damn good. Too long and overly complicated. Could have used some trimming, like the Hawkeye home stuff, and Banner and Natasha's relationship. But the fights were amazingly good. Except the fight in Andy Serkis' factory, oddly enough, they didn't do as good a job with letting you keep track of where everybody was in that one. The rest were great! And while in my mind I know plotwise the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight went on a little long, I could have watched another hour of that! I also loved the fact that Tony was in the Iron Man suit IN the Hulkbuster suit.
The humor was well done. Just like the last Avengers movie, when it's there it's done well and very funny, but the movie is certainly not a comedy.
Ultron was an interesting villain, but only because of the performance. He was certainly better than the savagely boring villains in Thor 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. But he still felt like a placeholder as we just waited for Thanos. Ultron's plan was stupid, and made no sense. Although I think a lot of that is it seemed like he kept changing his goals.
Why the hell does an arms dealer keep selling weapons to make money when he apparently has BILLIONS of dollars of Vibranium on hand?! Ad why does Ultron need Vibranium specifically, just to lift up a big makeshift rock?
But the one thing that I really could not stand was Scarlet Witch. HER POWERS MAKE NO SENSE! She can just do any damn thing she needs to at the time. And people complain Superman has too many powers? This is a far bigger example of bullshit deux ex machina, pull powers out of your ass, type bad writing. If they wanted to do the mind manipulation thing, they could have used a different character, or simply limited her powers to that.
There is only one extra scene near the beginning of the credits. And it's not really important, because we already know Thanos is going to be in the next one. There isn't another one after the credits, so you don't have to stay.

I thought the Barton homestead scenes were great and added a human touch to the movie I'm surprised you didn't for a lot of reasons.

Scarlet Witch's powers were ill-defined in the movie because how would they define them? she has basically two powers, not sure how much sense they're supposed to make or how little they make compared to anyone else.

Ultron was looking to build a body from Vibranium, having a stockpile of Vibranium seemed a bit like having a stockpile of uranium or stolen art.  What can you do with it?

They were all right in and of themselves. But in terms of plot, and the movie already being too long, they could have at least been trimmed.

To be fair, my understanding is her powers are rather undefined in the comic, too. But in a movie with limited time, we needs to be able to understand them. The movie just tries to hand wave it away with "She's wierd." But it really just lets her do any damn thing the movie needs for her to do at any given time. It might as well be 'it's magic, we don't have to explain it'. Bad writing. And in a movie that otherwise I thought had decent writing, she stuck out like a sore thumb.

He used the Vibranium somehow in the mechanism to lift the peice of earth. Not sure how that works, but they did say it.
You are correct in that Vibranium was used in the cellular creation of Vision. I had actually forgotten about that.

As for what Andy Serkis' character would do with it...?! He's an arms dealer, selling on the black market anyway!

In the comics she has 'hex powers' meaning she can just do magic. In the movie though, she has telekinesis and hypnosis - that 'she's weird' line follows them saying basically that. There's nothing she can do that isn't explained by that.

Her powers are far better defined than Loki's.
FINE

The Avengers theme is so dull and boring.  Its really disappointing coming from Alan Silvestri who wrote one of the most memorable movie themes with Back to the Future.

Rainbow Dash

An enjoyable movie.  I think my only beef was that Ultron was really presented as a serious villain in the trailers but he's constantly making wisecracks in this.  Just seemed out of place.

I LOVED it! I didn't think the Hawkeye stuff was too much. It does make LucasM and Scott's argument about the importance of his character something I can now agree with (he is basically Agent Coulson in this one). I like that they defined Black Widow's character in a way that gives her something in common with Hulk and I LOVE that

I didn't think that the movie was too long. In fact, I thought it was a perfect length. Darth, you often complain that movies are too long, and I don't understand it. Being an avid book lover who believes "A movie is like a one-night stand and a book is like a relationship), I enjoy it when movies increase the 90 minute requirement to tell a good, comprehensive story.

The fact that Ultron was like Tony (including saying his one-liners before he could) was awesome.

I am confused by the foreshadowing for Infinity War, but that is probably because I have only watched the recent marvel movies once (and Guardians of the Galaxy not at all).

Why the fuck did they NOT include an additional scene during the end credits. Whedon, the only worse thing you have done was kill Wash!

Meh to the death. Not that important of a character and not that important of a death except for the person he died saving

Anyway, it adds to the continuing awesomeness that is the Marvel universe.

I really hope the first shot of Avengers 3 starts with Captain America saying "Assemble!"

Pak-Man

Loved it to death. Better than the first. Ultron made for a fun and charismatic villain, I thought. It did a better job than the first movie at selling Hawkeye as an Avenger.
