Sounds like a yacht loving, silver spoon owner and Theo problem....

Theo's next to go.  He's probably going to end up with the Cubs.

Bob

Theo to the Cubs?   Hahahaha, love it.    Another career coming to an end.

What a heart attack of a game, right up to the last second...

Must have been worse for Cardinals fans, with all those guys stranded on the bases, it seemed like they had at least 2 guys on base every inning.

Bob

So, 3 out of the 4 first round series are going to deciding 5th games.

TBS and MLB could not have scripted it any better.

Nyger "10 Second Audio Delay Needed" Morgan  :D

Also Reports are saying the Padres are not opposed to dealing for Lackey "if the price is right". I think I might go door to door and ask people to chip in extra stuff to include in the deal. I have a box of Golden Grahams and the Back To The Future DVD Trilogy I will throw in.

Well, Cardinals outplayed us these last few games.   Phillies just couldn't get a hit when they needed one...

Next year the team will probably look very different, lots of free agents and options, and it looked like Howard's achilles tendon may have blown out on that last play (he's been having issues with it for the last month or longer), that might take him out for a long time.

Better luck next year, man.

Carpenter was lights out. What a performance! The play by Furcal was off the charts.

I hope it's Howard's ankle and not his Achilles. That could be really bad.

I'm totally looking forward to Brewers/Cards. Should be good. Three out of the four series were excellent.

When he went down he grabbed above his ankle, just under the calf muscle, and the problem he has been having for the last month has been pain in his heel.

It was an awesome season, Lee had entire months where he only gave up a run or 2.  Just bad luck running into a team that was peaking when our bats were slumping, and Carpenter was dealing tonight, so was Roy, too bad he had that bad start or it would have been 0-0 going going into extra innings...

If only Charlie would have let the Braves win that last game of the season, rolled over like the Yankees did to screw the Red Sox, but that's not the kind of guy he is.

Heart still pounding and pacing in the house.    Pitching duels are nerve racking.   This Cardinal team is going give me a full head of grey hair.

I like all the Philly players and I hope their management does not over react......they did win 102 games.     Reports are that it was Howards achillies so i really hope it is just strained and nothing more serious.    He's a great guy.

Fox is probably freaked out that there are no Yankees, red sox or phillies left.

Mike Nelson's anti Yankee tweets were hilarious.

I was just reading he said it felt like a bat hit his achilles, and when he went to run he felt a pop, couldn't stand and his leg was on fire.  Sure sounds like a full blown tear, they are doing an MRI tomorrow but it doesn't sound good for him coming back next season.

The management here is great, I'm sure they will try to keep some of the free agents but there are so many this winter that it's going to be hard to keep them if other teams offer loads of cash.

Guess I'll be rooting for the Brewers now, going into the post season I thought they were the team that would give the Phillies the most trouble, even more than the Yankees (at least I got that part right, I think any of the post season NL teams could have beaten the Yankees).

This is terrible news. A torn Achilles can be a devastating injury that can take a long time to come back from. I'm hoping for the best. He's one of the good guys.

I hope they get it fixed up so he can get back to normal, he hasn't been able to run very well for over a month and they were guessing as to why, that tendon has probably been ready to go for a long time.

So six months to get the tendon healed, then he's going to need at least a few months to get back in shape, I guess best hope would be to have him back to normal by mid season.   It's not going to be a fun off-season for the big guy.

There was no previous talk of Hammels and Pence needing surgery, now they say Hammels will need his elbow and a hernia taken care of.   We knew Polanco was going to need his hernia taken care of.  All of them should be ready to go by spring training.

Hopefully he bounces back soon.   Also, hopefully the cowards that were booing him as he was being carried off the field get locked in a room with Howard later.

Maybe a few drunken idiots were booing him, I've heard a few boos in the past when he is in a bad hitting slump but never that many.

Lots of people booing the players celebrating on the field I can belive more than them booing Ryan, that was upsetting to watch but can't really blame them for celebrating after pulling off the upset.  But it does make me want the Brewers to CRUSH THEM... ;D

Bob

Maybe beating the Braves at the end of the season was not in Phillies best interest after all...
