Someone is uploading scenes that were cut...here are three of them...

You mean as if it wasn't bad enough.  Unless perhaps you think the movie isn't bad enough.

Invader_quirk

I half expected the deleted scenes to be things that SHOULD have been in the movie but were cut for time or money. Nope. These were so incredibly bad. I was shocked by their spuke-inducing stupidity.

So that's where the ethnically accurate casting went!

And wow...THAT was the Kyoshi Warriors' appearance in the movie (the people with the fans)? Hoo, the actresses who played them must be seriously glad M. Night cut their scenes out of the movie.

They're set to make their full appearance in the second movie, last time I checked.

Yep, M. Night plans on making a full trilogy. May the Force be with us all.

Still have not seen the movie so I do not know if those scenes were indicitive of the film, or just bad and that is why they were cut.

WTF with the last one and the guy making the goofy faces as everyone looked up at him while riding the generic beast?   Was that supposed to be comedy?   Foreshadowing?   Dread?

I didn't understand the goofdy face thing either.

Yes, the deleted scenes are pretty indicative of how bad the movie is. Although the fake psychic thing was REALLY REALLLY painful!

Finally got up the stomach to watch these...

I guess there was supposed to be some CGI stuff going on and that's what he was looking at making the goofy faces, his emotional reactions in the entire thing are so far off it's impossible to tell if the thing he was supposed to be looking at was amazing or frightening or confusing....

And unfortunately yes, those scenes are pretty much a representation of how bad the entire thing was.

That's actually a significant part of the first season of the animated series - the Kyoshi Warriors, a group of all-female, non-bending warriors from the city where one of Aang's previous Avatar incarnations was born, whom Sokka trains with after their leader Suki teaches his chauvinistic "Girls can't fight!" ass humility by dutifully kicking it all over the place - boiled down to 3 seconds of "See our pretty fans? Hee hee, we're sneaky, aren't we?" (in the animated series, those fans are the Warriors' main weapons - they're bladed like Oddjob's hat.)

Apparently M. Night thought they were the best part of the show's first season, so he wanted to keep including them more and more in the movie as they filmed - and that obsession became so much that he decided it was too distracting and he cut the Kyoshi Warriors completely out of the movie (a blessing in disguise for the actresses he cast, in retrospect.) Hopefully a sequel is never greenlit and we never get to see them in 'action.'

Ah, now that you point them out, I see the girls when they pop out of the crowd and wave their fans - I'm hoping they were planning on making that more noticeable, because I didn't catch it the first couple of times I watched that scene.

Oh, and The Last Airbender made 300 million dollars, and is the highest grossing movie made by Nickelodeon Movies to date (despite being probably the worst; I think it's tied with Barnyard). It will get greenlit.

Looking up on Box Office Mojo, you are right. 318M total, 131M domestic. Given the universal bad mouthing and steep drop off it had, though, I would guess if there was a sequel it wouldn't be with M. Night, and the budget would be reduced. The lower budget will only hurt it, though.

I think M. Night is the only one that wants to touch this franchise, and probably the only one who would be willing to after the crap this first movie got.

A lower budget seems out of the question, if they want to keep up with the Star Wars-esque CGI they've been using. Impressive visuals is the only thing this franchise has going for it; I happen to think the bending looked pretty cool (if you look past the actors flopping around like fish out of water pretending they know kung fu) and rather enjoyed it.

Two more...

Remember the amazing subplot about the Northern Water Tribe was sexist and that is why the Southern Water Tribe was made, and how Pakku was a "make me a sammich" douche bag and Katara ice slapped him with her non-existent cock and he saw the errors of his ways and how amazing that fight/plot was?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6oFZpVvGOc

Yea...it's been reduced to THIS! I guess like everything else, it was a fart joke and M. Night with his amazing writing skills took that "turd" and made it a movie masterpiece.

But then...we have this extended scene and...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2znxb3EMDTM

Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Magical Negro in my A:TLA movie?

And her name is "Aunt Wu"? AUNT FUCKING WU! WTF!?!

At the end there I thought she was going to bake cookies for him and Neo!

At least the Matrix character made sense, this is just...Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment horrifying and I better not ever cross paths with M. Night again or my half black side is going to Malcom X his ass!

Never mind the stupidity of "Aunt Wu" randomly guessing at who Ong wanted to talk to. I see. She has the gift of Cold reading, an ancient Earth Kingdom art. Especially ancient and mystical when it involves talking about the first letter of a name in a mystical fantasy world that doesn't use English writing.

BTW, for those not familiar with the show, this is Aunt Wu:

I think this image sums up the deleted scenes and movie nicely.  :-\

One more - a scene that never happened in the animated series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YO1kDbaGXg

Admittedly, this is actually a pretty decent scene, if you discount the. Shatner. Like. Soldier.

Yeah, Shatner soldier was lame.

I can see why this scene was taken out though - it was a bit redundant with the one where the Fire Lord is instructing his daughter to find the Avatar. They obviously wanted to foreshadow the next movie instead of using this ambiguous (but awesome) ending.
