Uh, minor correction, Courtney.  "Illinoise".  Excellent choice btw.

Courtney

It's one of those weird ones that's listed as Illinois, Illinoise, and Come On Feel the Illinoise, so I just went with the lazy one.  :)  No matter what you call it, I love that album.

2003: 12 Memories, Travis

Excellent choice.  Their 2001 album, The Invisible Band, nearly made my list.

I love this movie.  How Giamatti was overlooked for an Oscar nomination, I'll never know.

12 Memories is their most underrated, and probably my most loved of theirs.  Hard to choose though, as Travis is my favorite band.

Wasn't even nominated!

And wasn't nominated for Sideways while Thomas Haden Church was?!? Don't get me wrong, Church was great but c'mon!

Giamatti was nominated the year after Sideways... for Supporting Actor in Cinderella Man.  That's almost more insulting!  The guy won every award for Sideways except the Oscar!?  Easily one of Oscars biggest snubs ever imo.

"The Iron Giant" was 1999.  May I suggest LOTR:ROTK as an alternative?  Great picks btw.

2007: Grindhouse

Which one? Or just "Grindhouse" the way it was supposed to be? (Two movies with an intermission.)
