Movies that nobody likes

Relaxing Dragon

I just call it like I saw it. I wasn't expecting anything deep or thought-provoking, I was expecting something competent that had action sequences I could follow, not a jumbled series of cuts and identical looking robots. Hardly even a decent action movie, and the rest of its problems just dragged it down further.

So, it gets a failing grade from me, and given how it cost/made an obscene amount of money anyways, I see no problems in lots of potshots being taken at it.

Tripe

Yeah, me, too. I went into the first one with the lowest possible expectations, and was still thoroughly disappointed on every level. There is no "pretentiousness" about it.

These movies could have been cool, and if they had been made well, in a way that understood why the source material has withstood the test of time, then not only would the haters like me have enjoyed it, but those that enjoyed Bayformers would have liked it as well since it still would have had giant robots fighting and explosions. It's the squandered potential that tends to cause the bile for these movies and for Michael Bay.

Why is everybody so pretentious about TF 2? It's like everyone was expecting something deeply philosophical and thought-provoking. If you expected anything remotely of the sort, <insert snide, possibly rude insult here>. I heard all the negative remarks about it and frankly I wasn't able to see it until it came out on DVD. Seriously, it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be! I think it's even better than the first. This makes me curious, because it makes me think most people have nothing better to do than to be pretentious farts. All you guys, get a life, won't you? How are you going to hold down your jobs at McDonald's when all you do is go on the Rifftrax forum all day and go "wah wah wah, Transformers 2 was a piece of shit, wah wah wah!!!", "Wah wah wah! Michael Bay is a stupid pussy! Wah wah wah"? I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinion, but to be fair I don't vent my opinion if any of you happen to like movies that I hate(and if you ask me to shut up about any particular movie, I would be more than happy to do so) I also have never bolstered this movie to be any more than it really is. I never said it was a good movie, a  great movie or even a mediocre one. I liked it, that's all. At the very least I don't go at it all day, ad nauseam.
Now remember, that is your opinion. No need to go about insulting us that didn't like it. A lot of the people talking about why they think it sucked is because someone got, I believe the phrase is "butt hurt", over someone else not liking something they liked.

On that note, robot testicles, John Turturro's ass, 10 other testicle related "jokes", repeated scenes of dogs humping, inexplicably stupid parents, "they're not black stereotypes, they're white kids acting black stereotypes", oversexed for something that obviously will appeal to children, 40 minute tedious and incomprehensible battle scene leading up the arrival of the villain in the title only to kill him off 2 minutes later.
Oh, and robot heaven. Which I guess makes Optimus Prime the robot Jesus.

Nope, I like it.

Ditto, as evidenced by my last list o'crap submission.

For me the animation just dragged everything down so much I couldn't appreciate any of it.  It all came off looking so cheap to me.  Not at all satisfying and incomplete.  Maybe if he'd been able to make his sequel and finish the story, or spread the story out to get more material on the screen, or stayed consistent and finished the animation right I'd be able to enjoy at least some of it.

Here's my short response: nobody except the most anally retentive of people cares. There are even little things that I truly despise about movies like The Godfather I and II, but I don't hang onto those points to let them ruin the movie for me. If I let that happen then I'm not a very good movie-watcher. I'm not comparing Transformers to Godfather,but.... if they met in combat Transformers would probably waste Don Corleone.

This, apparently, is you watching a movie:

"Om nom nom more please"

If I could think of a way to visually portray that trash can's insecurity about other people's opinions, I'd have done that too.

ScottotD

well done for inadvertently also illustrating his point about people being pretentious  ;D

Transformers 2 was a wonderful movie!  It didn't offend me or insult my intelligence at all!  I love robot testicles and robot flatulence!  Racial stereotypes are great too!  If there was one flaw with this movie (I said IF), it's that those two dogs could have porked a bit more, maybe followed by a dog money-shot.  Oh well.

Rob, Poopoo....Are you trying to accomplish something? Tell me something, if we met in real life, would you act the same way you're acting on the forum? You're all certainly not proving anything by acting like this. As far as I can tell, I have at least kept my tone at a semi-civil level. I don't see any reason for this conversation to be relegated to childish-name calling... which you have apparently seen fit to engage in. Nobody is dissing you, so I see no reason to be insulting. Some people like the movie, they have a right to... so please for your own sakes learn to respect the opinion of others and grow the hell up.

You seem to have misinterpreted my point, I am agreeing with you.

I'd probably just laugh in your face, actually.

Apologies Scott, sometimes I can't tell when people are serious or sarcastic.
